Diop ain’t happening - no way we are splurging on two high end portal centers. No one is doing that. Although I’d love Diop. Kid is fully above the rim.

Kepnang has a lot of injury history, so not sold completely on him either. Imagine some new names will emerge soon.

I think you’d be surprised at the amount of stars non-P5 programs have produced at the NBA level and the consistency that they did it.

Even today, Ajay Mitchell may be better than all the transfer ups.

I think naturally, when you go elsewhere there’s a learning curve of fitting in that you go through which is different from improving on being a star where you are.

So naturally you’re losing a year of development.

Oh noooo, we might as well cancel the OOC schedule, and withdraw from the chance to play in the NCAAT. Darn that Dusty May. If we face each other again in the NCAAT and the game is Ref'd by Breeding and High Knees, will probably be another close game.

I just looked up and saw that Estrella shot 40% from 3pt range this past year, on 4/10 volume. We're clearly -Doomed.

Issue is your view is always back dated 5-6 years. Go look at this years mock first, and second. Last years draft. Tell me how many mid majors are in there. Last year had Rasheer Flemming, that's it. This year will have zero. All semi decent MM players portal up.

Game has changed dramatically. I've never met someone who's view is more deeply wrought in the past. It's a constant pattern of yours. If it's not PG development because of Calhoun days, it's thinking mid majors can develop NBA stars, completely oblivious to the fact those same players today are not staying at Santa Clara for 3 years because some HM is going to give them 2mm. Graves is a perfect example.

Need to catch up with the current, not even what happened in 2021. That research is dated.

Some good examples there. Even though my research involved award winning players (not All-Rookie team awards). The only person who would qualify on that list is Derrick White who is a very particular case because he went from D2 to the PAC-12.

Not necessarily going from a mid major and moving up. Even though Trey Murphy is of course a really good player still.

Those 2 also came during the pre-portal era.

I just said the Ajay Mitchell who is in his second year in the NBA is better than all the transfer ups. He may win 6th Man of the Year.

Who was he playing over? Silas? No. Ball? No. Mullings? Hell no. Wilkins was a Plan B if we lost any guards to the portal or the NBA.

You watch the Furman game? Talent is talent and he was arguably the best guard on the court that day. I think he can play. Now maybe he was extra juiced bc it was UConn and he’s a Mass guy, but he showed out and exuded confidence that he belonged.

Once upon a time Cam was a scorer for an under 500 Patriot league team… if you can play, you can play.

If this is at all still true, only means one thing. Khamenia didn't come to play the 4. If Duke is in on him too, looks like Scheyer is moving away from the freshman concept entirely this year and they will all be riding pine and likely in the portal next year.

It's definitely interesting, I'm just not sure I agree with the idea of the transfer up being the issue. Like if Damian Lillard or Steph Curry or Paul George transferred up in college is the idea they wouldn't have become stars?

My opinion is it was more of a shift that top teams just got better at identifying talent, so less guys were starting at a lower level. I think we'll start to see more examples of transfers up having better NBA careers as more of the 4 star recruits are moving down a level to play freshman year and then can transfer up.
