I bet there are multiple negotiations going on right now that we aren’t privy to where playing time, development, NIL, etc is being discussed at advanced levels.

With the craziness of the portal nowadays, I'm sure one of his jobs is to essentially scout every position for making a tentative "Top 20" list for every single position for all player experiences (So. through Grad Transfer).

Odds are will be that probably 75% of those players in the list will be in the portal at the end of the season, so a lot of the prelim scouting work is done!

I'm not in favor of this at all even though he's one of my all-time favorites.

BUT how would the NCAA stop this from happening?

If anything, it would encourage a floodgate of players leaving college since they would know they can always come back.

Donnie Freeman is apparently visiting UConn on Friday. According to Twitter, Goodman said UConn is the favorite to land him but I haven’t seen anything directly from him.

Murauskas looking like a two horse race of Louisville and ASU.

I don’t think St. John’s was as mercenary as Ville would be if they get him.

eh, Mara was a backup, Cadeau was coming off a majorly disappointing year, Morez was a backup and hadn’t broken out yet. Yaxel was really the only established superstar he signed. He did really good work building that roster.

He did a good job for sure but let’s not act like cadeau wasn’t top 15 coming out of high school and that the others didn’t have huge price tags. May is great but they were universally ranked as having a top 2 if not the best transfer class coming into the season.

And Mara was supposed to be a top 5 pick a couple of years ago.
 
dusty's talent id and just general philosophy is still worth respect. he's a great roster constructor/team concept guy, reading the competitive context well.

size, athleticism and shooting.

100% - guy was a buzzer beater from taking FAU to the NCG.

Let's not forget he got UM to the S16 in his first game last year. Right now, in terms of coaches that seem to run great systems and rosters, May & Golden seem to know what they're doing. Both could be off to the NBA as well.

One thing they all were, were highly ranked coming out of HS. Sometimes kids don't take to a system or a roster. It's why I liked the kid coming out of Houston that the Zags just grabbed. Few also knows what he's doing.
