Lewis is a waste of money. He would be happy playing for the worst team that would pay him the highest contract. He wants to take 30 shots a game and be one of the leading scorers in D1, even if his team was 10-18.

The 10th pick of the draft is guaranteed 2 years and 12.3m with 2 more team option years for a total of 20m.

The 20th pick of the draft is guaranteed 2 years and 7-8m total with 2 more team option years for a total of 17m.

It’s fairly obvious to anyone who knows basketball what the right choice is if you’re a projected 1st round pick.

Could you make an argument that playing another year in college under Hurley would be better for a player? Sure. I wouldn’t agree with it, though. Playing against other pros in the G league with all the NBA resources available to you while having secured your financial future should never be passed up.

Kentucky would be desperate enough to do it - no one can look at Hurley and see why he's winning, and the fact that building culture and a system is how it's being done. One year mercenaries that play for pay, don't care about what jersey they're wearing, aren't how you win.

I live in Atlanta, very talented kid with big upside. Stoudamire gave up on lids early this year. Would be a great get imo

Team option, look at first 2 years only. He can get 2m guaranteed now and move up10-15 spots in weaker draft next year. Staying is the no brainer. A year stronger he will be ready to play against men. I
Only wish Hawkins had this option but nil was not there. Hawkins is a sad cautionary tale.

If the news is accurate in regarding Villanova offering a large NIL offer- more so than your statement- this is the reason why so many coaches are retiring are doing their very best to get to the NBA.

If true, where is he getting more $$ or PT? What is he even angling for? I wouldn't touch the kid with a ten foot pole - could see UK jumping in out of desperation, which seems to be their chronic state.

St Johns also likes themselves big names at top dollar, especially if they can poach them from another conference member.
