Of course you are literally right HuskyNan, but I'm going to cut D Wade some slack. I don't know if he knows what GOAT stands for but I have increasingly heard GOAT used to mean the best of the best, the cream of the crop. Besides, my pet peeve is the whole concept of GOAT, of which there is no such animal. Someone better than every other player of all positions and all eras? Nah. The tired GOAT arguments need to be put out to pasture. And I'm willing to butt heads over this opinion! Baaaa.

Hmmmm……

Maybe we should consider what the GOAT had to say about Paige. Back in May, before Paige’s career in the W had really gotten started, DT confidently predicted that, “Paige will be the best player in the WNBA.”

Subsequently, Paige put together one of the best rookie seasons in the history of the WNBA. I don’t know how many GOATs there are, but I think D-Wade is onto something.

As we all know, Muhammad Ali referred to himself as “the Greatest.” In 1992 his wife, Lonnie Ali founded a company called G.O.A.T. Inc. to manage his career and intellectual properties. Subsequently in 2000 rapper LL Cool J popularized the acronym with the release of his album titled G.O.A.T.

That left it to the rest of us to argue over who exactly should be referred to as the Greatest of All Time.

I like the way you think it's so linear now, let's go nonlinear and discuss. Of all the GOATS, who's the real GOAT? Since there can only be 1, this GOAT has to transcend eras and has receipts. I, for one, cast my vote for Maya. Is there anything she couldn't do or any era she could not only play in but dominate, and of all the GOATS, she's the only one who has won at every level, talk about receipt, and left the game still the best. Basically, she beat Father Time and did not give him a chance to slow her down and erode her greatness...what say you BY'ers

Unrivaled will be interesting - with only 3 players instead of 5, i think Guards can feast on openings in the mid range area - something Paige feasts on. I'm sure she will drain her fair share of 3's, but anyone who sets a screen for her will help her to get wide open...

Agree. With that open floor, fast pace, and lack of congestion she should carve people up. Her teammates are going to get a lot of layups.

Unrivaled should be an entirely new level for Paige to do her thing. I can only imagine the challenge of guarding her with that much space available. I didn’t watch a lot of the initial Unrivaled season. That will most certainly change next year.

I started to watch a little and then Stewie got hurt. I watched most of the 1v1 tournament. After that I didn’t watch Unrivaled very much for no good reason I can think of. But Paige is the most exciting player in WBB, with apologies to CC fans, so next season I’m all in.
