You mean 40-50 is too many? 😉One of my beefs:
Wade, who knows firsthand the weight of expectations, has already compared Bueckers to all-time greats like Maya Moore, Candace Parker and Diana Taurasi. “To me, I was looking at Paige like, ‘Oooh, I think she’s going to be one of those GOATs,'” he said.
GOAT stands for Greatest Of All Time. How can more than one person be the greatest? It’s not just Wade m many people say something similar
Paige may be the greatest skinny, blonde guard of all time.........if her body holds up.......😊You mean 40-50 is too many? 😉
Of course you are literally right HuskyNan, but I'm going to cut D Wade some slack. I don't know if he knows what GOAT stands for but I have increasingly heard GOAT used to mean the best of the best, the cream of the crop. Besides, my pet peeve is the whole concept of GOAT, of which there is no such animal. Someone better than every other player of all positions and all eras? Nah. The tired GOAT arguments need to be put out to pasture. And I'm willing to butt heads over this opinion! Baaaa. One of my beefs:

OK, you asked for it.Who was the first GOAT? Anyone know? I can't recall hearing that term before DT. Was she the original GOAT? It would be pretty neat to be the first GOAT. Everyone else who comes forth would be just kids.
I like the way you think it's so linear now, let's go nonlinear and discuss. Of all the GOATS, who's the real GOAT? Since there can only be 1, this GOAT has to transcend eras and has receipts. I, for one, cast my vote for Maya. Is there anything she couldn't do or any era she could not only play in but dominate, and of all the GOATS, she's the only one who has won at every level, talk about receipt, and left the game still the best. Basically, she beat Father Time and did not give him a chance to slow her down and erode her greatness...what say you BY'ersOne of my beefs:

A couple of decades ago, the building I worked in had a big banner during October (national safety month), "America and Safety First."One of my beefs:

Unrivaled will be interesting - with only 3 players instead of 5, i think Guards can feast on openings in the mid range area - something Paige feasts on. I'm sure she will drain her fair share of 3's, but anyone who sets a screen for her will help her to get wide open...I think Paige can be 1st Team All-Unrivaled.
Agree. With that open floor, fast pace, and lack of congestion she should carve people up. Her teammates are going to get a lot of layups.Unrivaled will be interesting - with only 3 players instead of 5, i think Guards can feast on openings in the mid range area - something Paige feasts on. One of the things I was struck by watching Paige in the W is how much she took her 1 on 1 game to the next level. In college Paige typically orchestrated a beautiful symphony of motion with her teammates.Agree. With that open floor, fast pace, and lack of congestion she should carve people up. I know this is a thread on Dwayne Wade praising Paige, but I'm curious why you didn't watch unrivaled last season. I've seen several posts on here from people who either don't like it, or just didn't watch - I wonder why? I do get that it's new and different - and frankly, the teams and names don't link to any cities, so it's not like there are "home teams in home markets".One of the things I was struck by watching Paige in the W is how much she took her 1 on 1 game to the next level. In the pros, on a pretty bad team, Paige was often forced to go 1 on 1. She was absolutely dealing this year in the W, going behind her back and through her legs in a series of ankle-breaking moves that frequently embarrassed veteran WNBA players.
Unrivaled should be an entirely new level for Paige to do her thing. I can only imagine the challenge of guarding her with that much space available. I didn’t watch a lot of the initial Unrivaled season. That will most certainly change next year.
I started to watch a little and then Stewie got hurt. I watched most of the 1v1 tournament. After that I didn’t watch Unrivaled very much for no good reason I can think of. But Paige is the most exciting player in WBB, with apologies to CC fans, so next season I’m all in.I know this is a thread on Dwayne Wade praising Paige, but I'm curious why you didn't watch unrivaled last season. I also thought that while it was great to see some of the WNBA "stars" at the top of the scoring, it was cool to see others having success in the format. Phee, Stewie and Tiff certainly represented UConn, and seeing Phee and Aaliyah in the finals for the 1 vs. 1 "all star" competition was also very cool.
I do think the unrivaled season helped numerous players have strong WNBA seasons as well...
