The lower behind the basket angle is wild... you lose the depth perception but the winning play looks like a planned play from the start.... and then the bench..."Yay....let's all run on the court... Okay, maybe not".

It isn't so much their true fans that will rip him, it is the gamblers that will blame him for losing their money.

I love that everyone who saw the floor contributed. Reibe had a big basket and maybe put a little question mark into Boozer’s head (unintentionally). Ross made a critical stop on a fast break with 10 minutes left. Stewie (clearly not back to 100%) came in on his bum leg and gave us 5 impactful minutes even if he didn’t score. Ball was fearless and made huge baskets. And Smith was just an absolute fearless rock. And obviously I can’t add much more about Demary, Karaban, Reed and Mullins. Roster construction!!!!!!

And it says volumes that the huge threes that were made by Demary, Karaban and Mullins were ones where they literally had no time to think - just shoot.
 
If you go back to the Duke pre-game press conference (encourage everyone to watch), Scheyer was specially asked a question about Mullins as a player. I felt his response was shallow and more like reading off the stat sheet (“He’s UConn’s 3rd leading scorer.”). Well, guess he learned something last night.

Shout out to Malachi Smith who was in my doghouse since Big East play began but has really stepped up in the tournament to be an important piece for us. I dismissed those who said he would return to better play getting out of the Big East grind but it is either a big coincidence or there is something to that argument. Whatever it is glad to see it, especially since Demary's injury seems to have set him back a bit.
 
It is strangely fitting that StJ looses to Duke in a last seconder and then Duke looses to UConn over same. What a trio this season!

Ayers is trying to tell him something (probably that they are reviewing to see if more time needs to be put on the clock). But it’s super loud at that moment so Hurley is leaning in to try to hear him. They sort of both lean in to the same spot. Basically like two drunk people at a club trying to talk over the music who didn’t coordinate their head tilts.

Classic AK, struggled all game but came up clutch late. The dive into the stands to save a possession, the layup on the assist from Reed, the 3 to get us within 1 under a minute and the wherewithal to get the ball back to Mullins when it mattered most. He epitomizes toughness.
 
I thought one of the unheralded plays of the game was Alec Millender rushing out onto the court after Mullins 3 and then quickly realizing there were still 0.3 seconds left and quickly retreated back to the bench holding others back. Can you imagine if the UConn bench had gotten a technical foul at that moment. I don't even want to think about how I would have reacted. Goes to show, even a guy who never saw the court played a role. I'm half joking of course but in all seriousness, what would it take for a bench technical in that situation?
