Duke Post Game Thread

Laettner?
Grok says:
The most recent men's Division I basketball player(s) to appear in three Final Fours did so during the UCLA Bruins' consecutive trips in 2006, 2007, and 2008 under coach Ben Howland.

Key players who were on the roster for all three (or played significant roles across the span) include:
  • Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (forward; key contributor on all three teams).
  • Darren Collison (guard; played in 2006–07 and 2007–08, with roster presence tying into the run).
  • Arron Afflalo (guard; standout in 2006–07 and part of the core).

Just watched the Duke presser. Scheyer and Boozer who was crying
Good!
Scheyer deserved to lose that game. What other big time coach intentionally fouls up 3 with 10 seconds left? That screams “I don’t trust my team”. Just watched the D00k presser and Scheyer literally said nothing about UConn. Not congrats on the comeback, just “we don’t deserve to lose the game like that”
Obviously the do deserve it! They got a better end of more foul or non foul calls. ITS ONLY FAIR!!!!!

One other demon exorcised today: a previous E8 loss in DC to a team that shall not be named
Gotta say I feel a lot better after this elite 8 game in that building than I did after that game ( which I still am not saying happened).

Still haven’t watched one shining moment from that year and probably still won’t but this win helps. Now maybe every time that team that shall not be named plays on tv I won’t have the overwhelming urge to spit at them.

Does anyone want to talk about how NIL and/or the Transfer Portal is ruining college sports?

Anyone want to talk about referees and/or calls, etc at this moment?

... most likely responses, NO

This game really shows just how much EXPERIENCE matters in CBB.

16 years vs 6 on the floor to end that game

One star freshman tries to huck the ball and blows the game. Our junior gets a steal and senior makes the extra pass for the win
Teams keep ignoring this. You can have all the talent in the world but lack of experience is a serious problem. High school doesn’t get you ready, not for this

I watched the CBS Sports post game show and the post game pressers and was incredulous that no one mentioned how UConn blew a 19 point lead on Friday BUT HELD ON. Hell, they showed the exact same graphic Friday and tonight of the biggest tournament blown leads. Tough teams hold on.
