Duke Post Game Thread

Some entertainment for UConn fans:

What's educational about that (and other threads about this game) is that I saw complaints about Scheyer's coaching and disappointment that player A or player B made a bad crunch time decision, but no player was called out for being garbage or should never see the floor again and so on - which IMHO elevates their fans over the idiots who post vile stuff on our boards.

Wow. I don’t know what to say. I was listening to the game on the radio and almost drove off the road when Mullins hit the game winner. Unbelievable. One of the greatest UConn MBB games of all time. To turn it around like that in the second half and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. I mean, what do you even say. This team DOES have that dawg in them!!

Can somebody explain to me what just happened? I mean we were sooooooooooo down, And out. Charles said at halftime, “I do not see UConn coming back. Just don’t have the athleticism or firepower.” Everyone agreed. I have to admit I didn’t jump out of my seat and swear at him from my living room. Then we come out, missing open three after open three, like we never did before . . . And next thing I know we’re down 3. What did I miss? How did that happen?
As good as Boozer was, Reed was eating the Blue Devils up consistently for the whole game until the rest of the team starting making some plays

That is one of the greatest shots in college basketball history. Unreal.

Someone posted that 1 seeds were 134-0 when leading by 15 or more at the half. Is that true? An all time comeback.

We still talk about Tate George. This is even more improbable and significant
Another thing we don't talk about is Tate had a steal on that play before the one where Satan Incarnate beat us. Not this time Satan, Not. This. Time.

Repost from a few months ago

I've learned that we have a great team, again! ... win or lose last night, I had a comfort like I did with our 2023 and 2024 teams, that we have all the pieces (even with injuries) for another title run

While I learned that, I will teach folks here w/ a quote from my Duke BB board - this is what a poster had to say about the game @ Kansas ... and it was acknowledged by many

"Nice win for UConn at the Phog without Tarris Reed. The kid Mullins is a player. Kansas’ offense was horrendous and it wasn’t because UConn was playing lock-down D. Still, UConn had attained a level of confidence where I always expect them to come back from whatever deficit they face to make it a game and/or win."
