Skyler Bell is as good as any wide receiver out there in college football today. His numbers prove that, and his yards after catch are tops in the nation. I know he is not mentioned with others, but he should be, just as Joe Fagnano should be mentioned more, given his stats, which are as good as anyone's.
UConn is fortunate to have both of them.

I think they both find their way on an NFL roster next year. They've been that good.

Just such an impressive showing from everyone. Players, coaches, fans. Definitely the best win we’ve had since the RE 1.0 days. As great as Houston and liberty were they felt like wins that we were able to find a way to steal while this one felt like 2 good teams just going back and forth and if we played them again we’d have a really good shot. Plus the fantastic crowd both in size and how into it we were from start to finish.

To make this year a real step forward we needed this one. Hopefully no let down the remainder of the way and hopefully we can face another p4 team in the bowl game and make it a real special year.

Who knows what ends up happening with conference realignment but for yesterday at least the program and fanbase did everything we possibly could to show we belong

Unbelievable Day!
Voice will be hoarse for the next 24-48 hours.
The icing on the cake was, while exiting through Gate C, there was a father & son clad in Duke merch walking ahead of me. The son (9-10 years old) was crying hysterically. He turned & said "Bit Dad, don't THEY know that we're supposed to win?" CLASSIC Duke mentality...
One the subject of chop blocks;
Duke's defensive #7 was a p.o.s. & laughing about it early in the game...
This contest was just a warm up for next week. The service academies are known for & allowed to get away with low crack back blocking...

I also did not like the Duke players early on giving the double thumbs down after a positive play, and doing it in our guys faces. I got the sense the team did not like it either, which quickly led to the verbal escalation on both sides.

Perhaps you are thinking of John Provost, the Holy Cross DB had 11 INTs to lead the country in 1974. He was also an exceptional punt returner. He was consensus first-team All-America but received no Heisman votes.
No, the prior post and I were both about Lockbaum. If it was 40 years ago instead of 50, so be it.

Makes sense. We're better than Clemson and have more ACC wins than FSU.
While Football generally rules, the last thing SEC teams need right now is a team they can’t beat in football. We would give the conference things they don’t have that other programs can’t provide them with including the Boston to NYC footprint our AD is trying to further develop. Basketball elite OOC games at MSG and TDBN this year, imagine an annual rotating SEC football game at MetLife and Gillette and the conference exposure and NIL dollars that would flow.

Just want to comment about the crowd in person vs the crowd on television. It was pretty clear that the announcers recognized the energy in the stadium and if you were tgere you felt and heard it. But it really didn't translate to TV the way it does on other broadcasts. Hearing games at home through my HT it's obvious how Fox/CBS/ABC-ESPN manipulate and enhance the sound for many of their broadcasts. It can really be immersive but sometimes it's annoying and I need to turn it way down. Instead of sounding like you're at an actual game it's more like a Wizard of Oz experiment by sound engineers. By contrast the CBSSN broadcast sounded pretty dead. You could hear the crowd but it seemed off in the background for me. Kind of like the noise level that was basically the buzz between plays in the stadium. Not sure if it's totally a network thing or a technology issue within the stadium but just my .02 that maybe can be looked at for the future. (I know "it's always something")

I think this was it.

15-yd Penalty
15:00 - 4th
Shotgun #2 J.Fagnano pass complete short right to #80 J.Neider caught at UConn41, for 32 yards to the Duke31 (#8 D.Stone), out of bounds PENALTY UConn Pass Interference (#80 J.Neider) 15 yards from UConn37 to UConn22. NO PLAY
3rd & 6 at CONN 37
There should have been a late hit on Duke on that play as well. OPI was questionable but the penalties should have been offsetting.

I think SEC - building the Boston to NYC media footprint.
Much easier path to the CFP through ACC. The SEC has so many good teams you could have a good team and go 500 in the SEC, while in the ACC you would have a much easier path at a CFP berth. Look at SMU last year. No way SMU would have made the CFP from SEC.

JF is getting a hell of a lot more than 50k.
Really how much? My reasoning he came from Maine and was not highly recruited so UConn got a bargain. Are you saying JF is getting $250k or more a year now?

Like many, I don’t have a voice and hands hurt today from making noise. It’s a good feeling to have again.

Duke learned hard way, if the Rents a rockin, don’t come a knockin…

After a hard fought game players probably want to go shower and rest. Classy move staying on field so long after taking pictures and signing autographs.

1) NIL is re-negotiated yearly (typically). Even if he got 50k coming from Maine--and I expect it was more--he definitely got more this off-season.

2) Just the car he drives around campus is worth 100k. That isn't even considering whatever cash they sent him.

Is he making 250k? I have no idea, but I expect he is. He and Skyler are paid handsomely.

The reason I question how much NIL he got was that he was not highly sought after in the portal this past year. In fact most UConn fans were hoping for a replacement. I would be very surprised if if he is getting $250k a year. By the way what type of car is he driving around campus?

Hopefully he leased the car.

Did Joe even enter the portal?

UConn fans were hoping for a replacement because everyone thought he was out of eligibility. Think basically everyone was very comfortable with him being our starter once we knew that was a possibility

Yes, just rewatched the replay this morning and the broadcast doesn't do the crowd justice for how loud it was. They made a big difference on that final stand. Just a great game to be at.

When we found out he had another year there was a blip that he might look around, but nothing ever came of it.

Now we know why. Plus he was all but guaranteed to start barring injury. If you’re going to stick around for a 7th year you want to be playing.

May have been said earlier, but just when you think this team just doesn’t have it (see Delaware or Rice pudding), this win just pulls you back
