I'm sure if Herbst had outmaneuvered Nordeberg and gotten UConn in the ACC, there'd be tremendous animosity at Pitt vs. UConn even though we played some great games vs. Pitt.
So Pitt iis like old Uconn and Duke is like Uconn now?
But that wasn't the case. And IMO, that's as much the fault of SH/WM as anything else.
I'd probably root for Duke against 'Scuse, but not vs. Pitt. Then again, I live in Pgh. And unlike 'Scuse fans, many Pitt fans actually want UConn back on the schedule. I haven't seen anyone from Pitt regard UConn as a mid-major, unlike the d*ckheads from upstate NY.
All CR stuff aside, I think most UConn fans would appreciate Pitt's game more than Duke's. Pitt is currently playing a style that's reminiscent of some good UConn teams - solid D, ball control, good spacing/passing in half court, able to fly in transition - while Duke is weak in the paint and relies on outside shooting.
If Zanna and Robinson stay out of foul trouble and Duke hits fewer than 10 treys, this should be a Pitt W. This game is a HUGE deal out here. While you can find tix on StubHub in the 90s, apparently the average ticket price is >$250.
