Like Petruccio said.
" a plague on both their houses"

It was actually Mercutio. Petruchio is from Taming of the Shrew. Sorry, I'm a high school English teacher.

As for the Pitt-Duke thing, I still root for the Big East teams (except PC and BC). I no longer hate Duke like I used to, but I would have taken great satisfaction in watching the Big East defectors kicking some ACC . Of course, Duke has made Pitt look foolish in the second half so it is a moot point.

Don't mind Duke for the same reasons JC mentions. Funny how that works. But don't mind Pitt either because of some of the great games we had in the last decade. Seems like UConn took most of the important ones and gave Pitt some mid season wins. Syracuse. Anywhere but that dingy, rats nest of a town.

Dixon got outcoached, but hard to do much when Dawkins is hitting every three he takes. They shut down Parker in 2nd half but didn't help any. Worst I've seen them this year. If Duke did this at Petersen, I imagine they'll do same to 'Scuse this weekend.

They are also so so boring. They must be the most boring team to watch year in and year out.

Tonight they were. Hardly any transition as Duke was getting the offensive boards and not missing much of anything. Pitt's actually been entertaining tihs year more often than not.

As much as I can't stand Pitt, Cuse and ND, I hope they wipe up in ACC and place Duke in second division
Anyone see the first minute of the game when a ball went out of bound off a dookie and refs called duke ball? did you see Dixon high stepping down the sidelines ala KO and no technical?

Duke approved us for the ACC from what I heard. Don't know if Pitt had a say, but I despise them.

Pitt played a major role in rejecting a lucrative deal with ESPN that would have saved the Big East as we knew it. They deserve to lose. Duke supported UConn's admission to the ACC. Support Duke. They are our friends.

The deal certainly looks lucrative now, but at the time was a bit insulting compared to other conferences.

I'm not a big Pitt fan and I certainly despised them when DeJuan Blair got away with murder but Jaime Dixon is a good coach and always gets a lot of less. I recently got home and I at the end of the first half and still wondering how Pitt got blown out. Sure they made some bonehead decisions with the ball and Parker was on fire but I guess I will see.
Coach Ratface is still a jerk, but not as whiny and obnoxious as he was 5-10 years ago. I will still root against Dook in almost all cases...except against Kensucky and the Squid with his blatant World Wide Wes-fueled sleezy recruiting methods and especially Syrabuse, whom I will despise at least until the pedophile enabler retires.

I'm sure if Herbst had outmaneuvered Nordeberg and gotten UConn in the ACC, there'd be tremendous animosity at Pitt vs. UConn even though we played some great games vs. Pitt.

So Pitt iis like old Uconn and Duke is like Uconn now?

But that wasn't the case. And IMO, that's as much the fault of SH/WM as anything else.

I'd probably root for Duke against 'Scuse, but not vs. Pitt. Then again, I live in Pgh. And unlike 'Scuse fans, many Pitt fans actually want UConn back on the schedule. I haven't seen anyone from Pitt regard UConn as a mid-major, unlike the d*ckheads from upstate NY.

All CR stuff aside, I think most UConn fans would appreciate Pitt's game more than Duke's. Pitt is currently playing a style that's reminiscent of some good UConn teams - solid D, ball control, good spacing/passing in half court, able to fly in transition - while Duke is weak in the paint and relies on outside shooting.

If Zanna and Robinson stay out of foul trouble and Duke hits fewer than 10 treys, this should be a Pitt W. This game is a HUGE deal out here. While you can find tix on StubHub in the 90s, apparently the average ticket price is >$250.

C'mon guys. Nobody, let alone Pitt, is going to be the driving force behind sending Dook and UNCheat in to obscurity. However, Pitt can become the next WVU, over which I would not exactly shed a tear.

No- but they were the driving force that put us in this dudie of a conference- and for that I wish them nothing but pain and woe.

For all the insane battles we had with PITT I never really hated them and usually rooted for them out of respect in the tournament. But yeah those days are over.

Duke made shots, they don't always but that's all they have. Pitt ran into a hot Dawkins and Parker, happens. Duke didn't allow Pitt to rough them up and Pitt played the softee!

Wanted Pitt but in turn maybe Duke can parlay it in to 2 good shooting games in a row vs Cuse and kick their a**es……..did I just say that?

Boatshow, awesome, and I mean AWESOME avatar. Just a suggestion though - you need to set that entire clothing rack on fire before taking that pic. Next time maybe!

I was suprised how "un-physical" Pitt was compared to the past, especially in the paint, where they have always been, as we well know, overly aggressive at times. Especially now, when the zebras are calling everything 25 ft from the hoop and letting all sorts of stuff go inside. The D they played hardly showed any of their old Big East pedigree.
Their offense went cold at the wrong time, just as Duke was heating up from outside. Did them in.

That would be cover for some but I am convinced that Pitt act inappropriately. At the time of the vote against that contract, Pitt and Cuse had to have been in serious discussions with the ACC. Cuse voted yes for the contract, Pitt voted no. ND and GT voted no as well but in their defense they were looking at staying with the BE at the time of the vote.

I don't blame teams for moving around in CR. Schools have to consider what is in the best interests of the University. But the way Pitt handled this ESPN contract has left a bad tastes in my mouth and, hopefully you don't take this personally, hope nothing but the worse for them in that conference. They and BC are the schools I want to see struggle the most and this is saying something given that I have no love for Cuse, Duke or ND.

I don't take it personally. I'm only "Pitt" by marriage/location. I have a closet full of UConn stuff, nothing with Pitt.

Anyway, the whole CR thing seems like something out of Godfather II.
