These young fans just don't understand.Hate both but want to see Pitt lose especially at home.
Exactly, and I want Pitt Cuse and BC to be floormats in their league. The idea that if we played either one them in the tourney and we wouldn't hate them as much as Duke?I want the ACC to end up as a Duke/NC league again so that the defectors become has-beens and the league weaker.
These young fans just don't understand.
Could this have been written by anybody who watched the Hurley/Laettner teams live? It doesn't seem possible.
It's like watching Lucifer fight Al Capone and you're cheering for the Devil.
I'm sure if Herbst had outmaneuvered Nordeberg and gotten UConn in the ACC, there'd be tremendous animosity at Pitt vs. UConn even though we played some great games vs. Pitt.
But that wasn't the case. And IMO, that's as much the fault of SH/WM as anything else.
I'd probably root for Duke against 'Scuse, but not vs. Pitt. Then again, I live in Pgh. And unlike 'Scuse fans, many Pitt fans actually want UConn back on the schedule. I haven't seen anyone from Pitt regard UConn as a mid-major, unlike the d*ckheads from upstate NY.
All CR stuff aside, I think most UConn fans would appreciate Pitt's game more than Duke's. Pitt is currently playing a style that's reminiscent of some good UConn teams - solid D, ball control, good spacing/passing in half court, able to fly in transition - while Duke is weak in the paint and relies on outside shooting.
If Zanna and Robinson stay out of foul trouble and Duke hits fewer than 10 treys, this should be a Pitt W. This game is a HUGE deal out here. While you can find tix on StubHub in the 90s, apparently the average ticket price is >$250.
Something I was wondering is if the ACC were to have another expansion vote, would Pitt be pro or anti UCONN? I like to think they'd be supportive, but then again, if it's between UCONN and Cincy, they'd probably side with Cincy.
I'd like to see the ACC rue the day they ever invited Big East teams to join. I'd like Pitt, Cuse and ND to be the cream of the crop in the ACC. and have NC and Duke and others slide to 2nd tier teams there.
East Carolina lost to dook by 1...and will probably kick most of the AAC s ass in footballThose demons have been exorcised by the work of the '99 and '04 squads. The two biggest games we every played against Duke and we owned them in both. We denied them 2 championships.
The disgust I used to feel hearing about Duke has been entirely supplanted by hearing the upcoming ACC conference schedule. Syracuse vs. Whoever or Pitt vs. Whoever, meanwhile I look forward to getting payback against Houston. Houston! I'm supposed to get worked up about a REVENGE game against HOUSTON and "It's not a bad league this year, of course Louisville is leaving for the ACC next year...blah blah blah TULANE". An Elite 8 game from 1991 (that I watched along with rest of you) can't hold a candle to what they've now done to us. EAST CAROLINA FOR OMG WTF PLANET AM I ON *VOMITS* OH GOD WHY!?!?!?
Right with you Ace.Guess I'm alone in going with Duke, those BE wars has made me detest Pitt. Of note, Pitt has 0 RPI top 50 wins on the season, looking like its gonna stay that way.
