Duke fans are delusional

I mean, at this point UConn is the program that has proven it can remain a powerhouse under multiple coaches. UConn - 6 championships, 3 coaches. Duke - 5 championships, 1 coach. Until they reach the mountaintop with another coach they're a one hit wonder. Neat, they get 5 star recruits and underperform year after year. I'm so envious.

And if they don’t win it this year, or even make the Final Four, buyer’s remorse for the contract they gave Scheyer will reach a fever pitch. And I’m here for it.

The abject delusion which infects that entire bowl of verbal diarrhea is surpassed only by its thinly-veiled sliminess.

Love the thread title.
Which of these tweets is more pathetic?

What's that smell...must be Puke stinkin' up the place. Let's see Puke's 1st natty was 1991 while UConn's was 1999. WOW, Puke fans learn themselfs some good maths. Didn't realize 8 FRIGGIN' YEARS constitutes us as newbies and them as olds, but what do I knows with my UConn degree? Nice thing about stinkin' Puke is that you can usually flush it down the toilet, that clears up the mess just fine.

What a load of trash!

First the writer says:

"Cooper Flaggs most interesting comment"
Never puts up said comment.

Then he says:

"Cooper Flagg and Caleb Foster both talk about being recruited by schools that talked Duke down. This convinced both of them to take Duke more seriously and ultimately commit to the Blue Devils."

And then says:

In Flagg’s case, you have to wonder whether it was UConn and if it was, well, that’s pretty interesting.

Sooooo, although he never said Uconn and infered many schools, the writer decides to single out Uconn and Dan Hurley and then goes on to make up this whole story in his head that Duke is in DHs head and is this dragon he must slay to cure his feelings of inadequacy which lead to him begging CF to come here because Uconn is an inferior program somehow? This is a lot of projection and insecurity on the writers part. Thats all i see here. The only thing that imbecile did was make dook a target of a blow out some time hopefully in the near future. We wouldve gotten it this past season but the committee protected duke from getting embarrassed on national tv by sending dook to the south region and Auburn? to the East? lmfao! Even when questioned about it the committee member made ZERO sense with the explanation but we all know why. dook got protected from getting Illinied.
"And to be clear, we’re pretty sure that Danny was rooting for Bobby 100 percent but perhaps transferring his resentment and sense of inadequacy to Duke.

And it’s still there. And it wouldn’t surprise us at all if that’s what Flagg was talking about.

Come to UConn, Cooper. Help me us slay the dark blue dragon.

But Duke won’t oblige, which must be really frustrating."

UConn is one of the few, if not only, school that doesn't have to say anything negative about Duke, or any other school.
Our recruits choose to play for Hurley, and/or for UConn. Duke's players, including Flagg chose a uniform and/or a school. I would venture to guess that none chose Duke simply to play for Scheyer. This includes Flagg. I believe his choice was a done deal before he visited UConn. He gave his word that he was going to Duke, and he kept his word. I respect that.

Ask a true CBB fan what matters more to them.

Titles
Continued greatness(without titles)
NBA players

the goal post will always be moved until you run out of things to say, then you become Skip Bayless.

Even with LeBron and Jordan…LeBron can never go 6/6, so everything else doesn’t matter.

Try asking any blue blood coach what their ultimate & only goal is.

“To do what UConn has done these past 2 years”

Caleb Foster is the one that brought up negative recruiting and Flagg just agreed with him. The mental gymnastics it takes to progress from that to 1.) Dan Hurley negatively recruited against Duke 2.) Dan Hurley did this because he's jealous of his brother 3.) This jealousy from 30+ years ago is why Duke lives rent free in his head, is actually an impressive display of delusion.

the 'article' if you can call it that is just deranged. actually can't think of a more deranged article with semi serious pretension

1. Weird.

2. Over the last 50 years one program has more titles than the other, and that includes the entirety of the K era a Duke. UConn spotted K 15 years and the rest of the NCAA 25 years and still ended up at the top of the list.

3. Jim Calhoun was such a great coach, his echos are winning championships.

B is A. The negative recruiting leading to them committing was the most interesting comment.

Garbage article, I guess playing on Friday night is more important than winning

I mainly can't understand Duke fans who claim Duke is both a Blue Blood because they were good for years before K was coach and claim K was a better program builder than Calhoun. That one always confused me.

So I finally read this thread but could not bring myself to listen to the podcast still I have to add that Cooper made it known very early in his recruitment that Duke was his dream school. Good for him but that means the every school recruiting him had to swim against that tide. Every school had to make the case that he would be better off here than there. I think we did a pretty good job of that.
