Duke had 16 turnovers mostly caused by Kentucky's full court press. However as I said in another thread for most of the 1st half if Duke beat the press, then Ky's defense was not that tough. It did get better in the last 3 minutes.
Williams is 4-4 and has 3 rebounds. I agree she should be getting a touch every Duke possession. I think Duke has a very good shot at a win if she takes 10 shots or more in the second half (assuming they are shots in the paint).
We ( Louisville) got spanked by Ky this past weekend. We played awful, the kids just did not show up for the game. That being said , KY played very good ball. Their defense is relentless. A'Dia Mathies is scary good. They are only going to get better, with Walker joining the lineup as soon as next week.
Azia Bishop( freshman) is having a break out game.
I know we deserved the heat we got about our loss to KY, but, this KY team is no joke. I am anxious to see the game against Notee Dame, but...we may be looking at a FF team here.
Kentucky wins game 72-65 pulling away in the last 5 minutes
Kentucky played pressure defense for the complete game causing 24 Duke turn overs.
Next week Kentucky travels to ND and with KY's pressure defense it should be an interesting game. If anything it will help prepare ND for UConn's defense.
I watched most of this game, which I found pretty entertaining. That said, Duke has big, big problems with any team that comes at them with energy. Williams is going to be special, but honestly, I like UConn's chances in this one a lot. Kentucky's energy is impressive, and they'll get better with Walker aboard. But while their press rattled Duke, I didn't think it was that big a deal. I liked their center, who came up big defensively, and they have a couple of shooters who can shoot. They are the kind of team that can sneak up on people. A game against TN would be very interesting.
