Caleb Foster injury: Duke guard out for 'foreseeable' future after surgery as NCAA Tournament looms
Top-ranked Duke may be without its starting point guard for most of the postseason after surgery
It doesn't end their hopes. He was the weakest of their starters and Cayden Boozer can take over but now they have a freshman point guard running the show and depth becomes an issue. They'll only have 1 point guard.Really tough for him, for Duke and their fans. The team seemed poised to be a serious contender. I don't know what they have to replace him and whether this more or less ends their title hopes.
Tough for the individual but I will never feel sorry for Duke or their fans.Really tough for him, for Duke and their fans. The team seemed poised to be a serious contender. I don't know what they have to replace him and whether this more or less ends their title hopes.
He is but that's a lot of responsibility and pressure on one player. Flagg had more ballhandling/facilitating help.Boozer is the de facto point guard anyways
Their nerdy fans made a tasteless joke on game day about Caleb Wilson.Tough for the individual but I will never feel sorry for Duke or their fans.
Similar to UM, PG play is Duke’s Achilles heel.
They’re still a 1 even if they lose first round of the ACC tourney, just not the #1 overall.2 seed?
I don't like seeing a team's title chances derailed due to injuries.Really tough for him, for Duke and their fans. The team seemed poised to be a serious contender. I don't know what they have to replace him and whether this more or less ends their title hopes.
defense is the big impact here. little boozer is a big downgrade from foster, and ngbonga was a generally strong deterrent in the lane.Boozer is the de facto point guard anyways
Agreed. Unless it's Duke.I don't like seeing a team's title chances derailed due to injuries.
He was the 5th most impactful starter. Ngongba limited would hurt them much more.I genuinely cannot believe there is a 5 inch difference in height between the Boozer twins. I have never seen such a discrepancy in height between twins.
Agree with those saying this is more of a depth issue for them than anything. However Foster does shoot over 40% from deep. This may hurt their spacing offensively, as Cayden Boozer shoots less than 30% from long range.

These are college kids at the end of the day. I feel bad for any of them who work hard and then lose the opportunity to play in the tournament or have their chances impacted by injury. Even Duke kids.I don't like seeing a team's title chances derailed due to injuries.
