Duke’s starting PG out with a foot injury

Really tough for him, for Duke and their fans. The team seemed poised to be a serious contender. I don't know what they have to replace him and whether this more or less ends their title hopes.

Would be nice now to get the #2 in the east, but if do well in the BET, that won't be posssible.

It doesn't end their hopes. He was the weakest of their starters and Cayden Boozer can take over but now they have a freshman point guard running the show and depth becomes an issue. They'll only have 1 point guard.

Tough for the individual but I will never feel sorry for Duke or their fans.
Similar to UM, PG play is Duke’s Achilles heel.

2 seed?
They’re still a 1 even if they lose first round of the ACC tourney, just not the #1 overall.

I’m hoping that even if they win the ACC tourney that Zona would jump them as #1 overall if they win the Big12 tourney. That way we can potentially be the 2 in the East even if we’re #5 overall (strongest 2)

I don't like seeing a team's title chances derailed due to injuries.

Oh no. I’ll have a second beer tonight to honor his memory as the most pedestrian of Duke’s rotation players

I genuinely cannot believe there is a 5 inch difference in height between the Boozer twins. I have never seen such a disparity in height between twins.

Agree with those saying this is more of a depth issue for them than anything. However Foster does shoot over 40% from deep. This may hurt their spacing offensively, as Cayden Boozer shoots less than 30% from long range.

Boozer is the de facto point guard anyways
defense is the big impact here. little boozer is a big downgrade from foster, and ngbonga was a generally strong deterrent in the lane.

He was the 5th most impactful starter. Ngongba limited would hurt them much more.

I don't want anyone to get hurt. I wish harm on nobody, bad karma. Hope they get to play as close to full strength as possible

These are college kids at the end of the day. I feel bad for any of them who work hard and then lose the opportunity to play in the tournament or have their chances impacted by injury. Even Duke kids.

To wish injury on anyone is low, even your biggest rival.

rivals, sure. but toolbags? That's just karma. For instance, if Fears were to roll an ankle and be done for the year? Karma.

As soon as you go over the line of making dangerous and unsporting plays on the court, you lose all respect from me.

Rumor is they will add a 4th ref to help alleviate the injury bug.

In all seriousness they have other players on that roster that are ranked high enough to impact this team despite less playing time. Let’s see how he can coach now, they’re still very good.

I don't really have anything against the Duke players (except for the resident cheaters who roll through every few years like Filipowski and Allen), but I truly couldn't care less about the feelings of their fans. How will the fans cope if Duke, the Yankees, the Cowboys, and the Lakers all play badly the same year?

Never wish harm - seriously even if you din’t believe in karma it’s bad form.

When Houston lost JS in a tourney game that was devastating and many felt for them.

This is Duke so I get it - no one enjoys a Duke loss more than yours truly - but not from injury.
