Marin
Marinelli was on the staff for one year. But in terms of lower FairfieldCounty families applying to UConn? You are correct.
They rather pay Gettysburg $90K/PER YEAR to get a psychology degree. It is beneath them to go to a state school.
This year’s episode of “Drew Pyne is in the Portal” has drawn to a conclusion:
I was wondering if that had changed over the years…when I attended UConn (1986 grad), UConn was definitely a safety school for lower Fairfield County folks. Of course..the school’s reputation has significantly improved since then, so it’s not surprising that it’s now considered a viable option for the entire state. Not every lower Fairfield County family, my 3 children are all UConn grads and are doing quite well in their choice of careers.
I’m younger (2014 grad) and I knew a decent amount of kids from Norwalk, but I feel like that’s one of the more “normal” towns in that neck of the woods.I was wondering if that had changed over the years…when I attended UConn (1986 grad), UConn was definitely a safety school for lower Fairfield County folks. Someone else in the portal:
Rashada initially committed to play college football at Miami over offers from LSU, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas A&M.[7] It was reported that Rashada received a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) offer of up to $9.5 million after his commitment to Miami.[8] He later denied that any deal had been offered to him.[9]
He later flipped his commitment to Florida.[10] Shortly before he was set to enroll for Florida's 2023 spring semester, Rashada requested a release from his National Letter of Intent.[11] It was later reported that a $13.85 million NIL deal with the Gator Collective, an athletic booster group that is unaffiliated with Florida's athletic program, had fallen through.[12] Rashada ultimately enrolled at Arizona State, where his father had played.[13] On May 21, 2024, it was announced that Rashada was suing Florida coach Billy Napier and Gators booster Hugh Hathcock over the failed deal.[14]
I wonder who reached out to who? QB/Pass Game Coord Pryce Tracy just came from Georgia. I’m sure there is some familiarity if someone was looking for a new home. Win and they will try & come.I'ld be willing to bet that there is an agent/attorney waiting to cash in on settlements from all those "agreements". This stuff is a holy mess and it is so sad that there is not the leadership within college athletics to take this on and try to fix it.
If I were Mora and Benedict I wouldn't go anywhere near this kid.
Someone else in the portal:
I would trust Mora to decide if the kid is worthy of a second chance. UConn could be a good place to rehab his image. We certainly wouldn't be paying him like P4 schools would.Avoid 100%
I am actually disappointed that we are talking to him.
UConn's QB coach, Pryce Tracy, was at Georgia with him. Kind of makes sense they would talk.Avoid 100%

Hopefully it’s just noise that his “agent” leaked.
This kid would spend more time litigating against than playing for us. Besides which, for the money he negotiated with other schools, we could use that money shoring up other aspects of the team. He's just a million dollar transferring bench warmer. If I were Mora and Benedict I wouldn't go anywhere near this kid.
Pass. He couldn’t even beat out Puglisi.
Too late for that. He's gone to our old friend Rhett. Its almost that time again...the time of the spring when we discuss if Tyler Van Dyke could play his [7]th year here.
I think you missed my jokeToo late for that. He's gone to our old friend Rhett.
It's only funny if he's in the portal though.I think you missed my joke
actually, wrong. It's only funny if he's in the portal though.

If we somehow do end up with this kid on our roster I can only hope:This kid would spend more time litigating against than playing for us. Did he have off field issues? Not sure why he is being deemed a problem. My main concern in this situation is can he be a starter at this level and so far he hasn’t shown anything.Sorry if this is out of line… but our QB situation is okay. Why add a problem?
What does this even mean? Did you read about the situation in Florida? He clearly has a cause of action.Today it was revealed that the UConn staff is recruiting Jaden Rashada. If you’re not aware, Jaden pledged to attend University of Florida, and then sued for millions when he decided to leave. He then failed at Arizona State and couldn’t crack the depth chart at Georgia. Now our staff is recruiting him in the transfer portal. Have we yet to learn our lesson? This kid is the same as Evers, except worse because he is clearly a money chaser. Is this really what we want? Joe will beat him for the starting role and the kid will steal money from the school like he’s doing for Florida. This seems so silly.
