That's fine.

So long as that group of folks never complain about not landing great recruits and not winning more football games. Because, in a weird twist of fate, great high school players tend to choose NOT to play in front of 1/4 full stadiums that don't cheer and don't seem to care about the final outcome of the game. What I'm guessing is that the group of folks we are talking about are actually the same group doing the complaining. Ironic, that they may be a large part of the issue that they so often moan about...

It's nothing new. When my sons were 10 and 8, we took them a game. We sat in front of two drunk jerks that were this and that so my husband turned around and asked politely if the guys could watch the bombs. One guy then screamed the swear word as loud as he could in my husband's face. His buddy must have been a bit more sober because he dragged the other guy - who wanted to fight - to another seat.

That story barely makes sense after the bad word filter got done with it.

New Englanders and especially Connecticut residents are insufferable. Being a former one myself it took me years to just realize it's just a game and life will go on win or lose.

Newer settlements or developments are more laidback much of the time....because they're newer. Connecticut has really been lacking much of anything new for decades. That is going to change, though, with all the urban renewal going on. The cities in CT that people consider "trash" are LOADED with beautiful old architecture, even Meriden. It's a matter of what's being made of what's in the state. With wealth and comfort, comes relaxing and contentment. Not everyone in this state is well off.

A lot of sports fans turn to sports to fill a void. For example, the New England Patriots. Have been a fan since 1986. Didn't see Mexican or African American Patriots fans before till now.

Oh sure, when we're getting our rears kicked, they're the first ones to chime in with the nonsense. But after a win? Crickets. After two wins in a row? I start to check the obituaries because I'm not sure they are still alive.

I never understood that about some folks and I never will. I'd rather be a super homer than to be a miserable prack...

Not going into the games has been ingrained in UConn fandom cluture for decades. More people stayed in DLot at Yale Bowl than went into the game since I can remember. From 1982-1998 UConn won the vast majority — didn’t matter.

Dan, I'm gonna go out on a limb, even though I know nothing about your situation, and say that my connection to the football program runs a lot deeper than yours does. I'll continue to support the program whether I decide to post on the BY or not. I've decided that this place is not fun anymore. That's all.

I've been posting on here for well over a decade. I was a card carrying apologista during Edsall's original run. I don't need your (or any of your wanker fans on here) stamp of approval nor do I need to answer to any of you. Most of the posters who's opinion I respect don't post here much anymore. The place is a disaster. If you enjoy posting here please feel free to continue to do so. Just enjoy it and let go of the anger. Who cares who posts or who doesn't post after wins?
