I wouldn't be too quick to scoff at BDH's idea of a court-stormin'. This Husky program was nailed to the cross by so many people. Players couldn't bolt fast enough. Our coach was signed to an interim contract. Recruits were unsure.

What would be funny is a court-stormin that featured 33 people.

Why, because a million scheduling things have to be a perfect storm, and honestly WE are usually the Favorite, and often Top ranked team. Years, can go by and this doesn't happen. Four year students, come & go before it does. Although the students will be away, the XL will be packed. It's the biggest game of the Year for this group downtown. Big Monday. Our House.

When it comes to Storming, some of you are Tighter than a drum. NO NO NO, act like we've been there, we are UConn. What would UNC do? Blah Blah Blah.

First off storms aren't plannned ahead. They are kinda like getting a . You don't say, "if a hot chick walks by me tomorrow, I think I'll spring a woody" Secondly, just because you banged a Supermodel , just 2 yrs ago, doesn't mean you can't get Excited about a new one.

Stroming, should be organic. How do we know if we win a boring game by 7, or if Wolf makes a half court shot to win the game at the buzzer? You don't.

Honestly, outside of Ollie's contract extension, things have been pure at UConn. If they do something Special, try not to place covenants on it. Let it happen naturally. We are UConn, and we can do whatever we like, when we like it.

But we never, ever storm the court. Its like screaming "we're pathetic losers with a team that never wins big games!". Its a home game. A win is expected unless there is an NBA team on the other bench. Period. Beating Louisville rates a high five or fist bump. Nothing more.

I say no. We are primed for a National Championship run next year behind the most talented point guard in the country Shabazz Napier so lets make a statement and refrain.

After watching NCSU storm after beating Duke yesteray I couldn't help but think about this myself.

I thought it showed classless stupidity when they did it. Yeah, Duke was number 1 (as the Vill(ains)may be tomorrow) but NCSU was a top 20 team (as UConn may be tomorrow) and they were picked to win the conference at the beginning of the year.


On a somewhat unrelated note, for instances like this can student seats be available to the general public? It looked like the general public were in the student seats at the Joyce Center yesterday and you see the same thing at a lot of places in January, but never really at the XL or Gample. I imagine the student section will be pretty much full anyways, it's not like most of them don't live within 45 minutes of Hartford in any given direction.

Boat, your plan is too logical to make sense. Seen this play too many times before. The XL yellow jackets will protect those vast empty sections in the second-level student section like Fort Knox tomorrow. "Sorry sir these seats are sold". And why are XL seats sold to students for winter break games, instead of selling separate packages for games when school is in session and out of session? Because that's the way we've always done it, dontcha know. Too much work for the folks in the ticket office in Storrs to sort things out.

Court stormin' is the jurisdiction of the students - they call the shots, not us goofy, old b*stards. And it's not life or death...if they want to storm it, duck* it, why not? Go for it.

i am well aware of the unwritten rules when it comes to court storming. we are a elite program so they are even more strict on us. some factors.
-full student section becuase of break?
-built up uconn fan fustration with everthing going on
-we should be ranked all year and media is playing the game...
-ko finally gets contract
-lville will be #1 or #2 it seems
-huge road win, momentum

i say we save the moment for a special one. we are not going dancing this year, lets make ko's first court storming something wild on campus like when we take down #1 indidana to open up b10 play in 2014.

LMFAO. Are you serious? We are about national championships, not beating a Louisville team at home. But here is an idea......anyone who wants to storm the court should funnel that energy over to the Rent and fill the seats when our football team plays!

I'm not sure that a few hundred people heading over to closed Rent in the middle of January helps very much, but I'm with you!

I say most definitely yes!! As long as they carry signs onto the court that say duck you NCAA, duck you Jeff Hathaway and duck you Alex I'm perfectly happy with it.

And afterwards the students claim they weren't storming the court because of the victory! No sir. There was a rumor that Pepe's was giving away free pizza on the court!

This seems like a good time to bring up another good reason to hate Mike Brey -- In 2001, I think his first year at Notre Dame, they were on a hot streak coming into UConn and we were struggling. It was a down year for us. And he says something like, "Funny, two years ago they won a national championship and now they'll probably storm the court if they beat us."
We beat them. We did not storm the court.
