Did The Team Get Their Vaccine shots?

Thanks @August_West from me and all the teachers of the Boneyard.

I feel like the motto of all teachers this year is: "it could be worse".
My son who teaches in Jersey filled out paperwork but no word on when he'll get it. Yet my nephew in New York who is a Vice Principal got his 1st last Friday. Delaware hasn't started teachers yet although they are in the next group.

I wish I could answer that truthfully and with sense. I cannot.

You can DM if you need to.

I realize there isn't enough of a vaccine for everyone up front and no matter what order was selected, some group was going to have to be 2nd, 3rd, etc.

I'll rant a bit and say the first responder, front line health care worker and elderly living facility worker vaccination rate has been disappointing. If they choose not to get it, I'm all for putting them to the back of the line and moving on to the elderly who, IMO, should be next in line. I'll define elderly at 70 or above. Next up those above age 60 and those with immune deficiencies.

I thought Lamont was doing a great job but this is just weird/stupid. My Chicago teacher friends got vaccinated on Monday.
Interesting that while overall approach may be warped, CT is at least doing it’s part by being 3rd best in the country in % of doses distributed. Who knew CT would be a leader at anything.
An interesting way to look at this is to turn boneyard arguments back on themselves. Many have argued that this is really only a problem for really old folks, so teachers under say 65 should very much wait in line. Not saying I agree with the logic, but it fits with the arguments people have had for not worrying about coaches so we can have sports.

.-.
Love the teachers. I have 65 plus HVAC guys in SWFL that have been running non stop. No one mentions HVAC guys especially in the south. Been Brutal.

My buddy who lives in Texas just walked into a walk-in medical clinic, filled out some form saying he thought he was at risk because he was overweight and they gave him the vaccine. Why is it widely available in Texas but not CT? Bureaucracy?

Current vaccines protect the person who gets it. They can still carry and transmit to others but at what rate is unknown right now.
I don’t believe what you stated is known. Rather the Pfizer and Moderna trials did not track that. They can only make label statements on what they tested for in the trials. If you are Covid asymptomatic, you are still positive and would reflect as such in the trial results.

Actually there is enough evidence to say that it can be transmitted after vaccination but the rate at which it can be spread is not known at this time.
As with any vaccination, there’s a time period between when you are poked by the needle and when the vaccination is effective. Research indicates for many vaccines it’s generally about 2-3 weeks. This window period is a different issue than being able to spread the virus after that window.

I dont want to get too far afield here, and I dont want to be the chief00 of vaccinations and be vague about my sources because these are troubling times.
Chief pleads guilty to often being vague about my sources. That’s to protect them, so they can continue to feed me information. It’s that simple. No deep conspiracy theory, as some have suggested.
