Dookie V is obnoxious on TV and I mute him every chance that arises.

But down here in the Sarasota FL area where he lives he is very generous with his time, fame and money to help many good causes and is respected for his efforts.

Vitale went to bat for us on Gameday against Louisville when he called Gampel a must see place for the college basketball lover and then went on to say that UConn should play all their games at Gampel (something I'm a huge proponent of as well.) I think he has great respect for us, but the article didn't do us much justice. We are the college basketball capital of the world right now, we aren't just a team thats pretty good in the sport. We're one of the greatest programs to ever play the game. I wish he clarified that a little more.

Did they consider that a good or bad thing?
Channeling W. C. Fields?

From You Can't Cheat an Honest Man:

Mr. Archibald Bel-Goodie:You absent yourself from this house immediately! You pharisee...you pecksniff...you egregious tartuffle!
Whipsnade: Tartuffle? Is that good or bad?
Mr. Archibald Bel-Goodie:You're a fraud, a charlatan and a rogue, sir!
Whipsnade: Oh, is that in my favor?

He's about 6'9"

The real take away from this thread is that chap posted twice in a thread, for the first time

Nice little article. He doesn't really say anything new, it's the same story with the same points that countless writers have written before, but any publicity is good publicity.

Connecticut also catches a break in the American Athletic Conference as Louisville has departed to the ACC.

This made no sense though. Louisville leaving the AAC is not a "break" for UConn.

Speaking of Dick Vitale, does anyone else remember that weird "Hoops Malone" commercial from about 15 years ago?
