He should start a career as one of those motivational guys who frame infomercials as interviews and offer a free book to get people to come to a seminar "in your area!" Like a Dean Graziosi type.

I'm not actually kidding. He'd do well.

Bob can be a useful tool. "Hey Diaco said we should do X. Okay then lets do Y." It's like if you can find someone who could successfully pick the losers in every game. You could then pick the winners. We were using him in the wrong way.

So basically Bob Diaco is going to regroup, basically start over in a position with no public interface, NO direct coaching initially, lay low, stay in one place for a little while and stabilize career and family... hmmmmmm.

Probably a good strategy until he regroups. This big time coaching is a rough business. Just ask KO!

I went to LandThieves and warned them what was coming. Overall they seemed positive about it and thought maybe he was the DC in waiting. As long as he's not the HC in waiting, they may be able to get something out of him besides sound bites.

No supervisory authority or any contact with players at all.

May have finally found his niche.
He was thinking of applying to refill the absentee UConn med professor they found mummified in his cellar.
But Suzy said no

Diaco is getting out the limelight, putting a big name on his resume, and gearing up to DC again inf a few years when the UConn and Nebraska cash run out.
Yup, Disastro doesn't need to worry about income for awhile, he maintains or maybe enhances his network, potentially observes and actually learns something about coaching and leadership versus his historical bizarre-ness, mismanagement, etc. Weird to some perhaps, but potentially not so weird and a fairly smart career enabling decision.
