Pickle ball is a big thing now? I just remember it being the game everyone hated in gym class

Wait the paddles and ball you hit around at the beach? People get in fights trying to take over tennis courts playing that? Just lol

It's big amongst old people

Yes it's primarily 55+ crowd who were tennis players and now their legs and moving around isn't what it use to be. They still have their hand eye coordination so pickleball is the perfect game to pick up.

I saw a game at a park between two 80 year olds just giving it to these two 30ish guys. They were destroying them and talking smack lol

Pickleball is very popular. The scoring is kind of annoying. It's like a 3-set score that is confusing.

Never heard of pickleball. An off shoot of tennis?

We have cobblestone BB courts here in Amsterdam. One right behind my building. Works wonders for ball handling. They also play this wierd game called corfball. Still have not figured this one out.

1/2 court and a different racket. Becoming increasing more popular the the over 50 crowd.

Tennis that's more of a hybrid of ping pong. Similar lines to volleyball, the racket is bigger than a ping pong paddle and the ball resembles a wiffle ball. It's great for seniors because when you play doubles and the ball goes onto your side of the court you can hit it over with minimal movement.

>>The Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTCSB) estimates the tournament's economic impact is over $2.1 million and will generate nearly $126,000 in states sales tax as attendees visit local restaurants, hotels, stores and nearby attractions.

CTCSB, the state's official meetings and sports event sales and marketing organization, is managing the tournament's hotel bookings for the fourth consecutive year. The organization says it booked more than 2,600 rooms at 25 hotels in East Hartford, Manchester, Windsor, East Windsor, Windsor Locks, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill, Meriden and Farmington.<<

Daughter will be playing in this tourney next week. Travel ball is a pretty big thing (baseball & softball). A fair amount of regional tourneys that draw big #’s. I expect the Windsor softball complex (when complete) will do quite well.

This was a big deal in the complex I was stayed at in FL this winter. I'd never noticed before either.

Check out the HBO Real Sports story on Youth Sports. The market will soon be over saturated, but it is booming right now. I am not sure you need two stadiums, but that is just the initial plan. How often do initial plans for sports venues actually make it as the final product?
