For as "bad" as the first half was with missed layups and a cold scoring stretch, we were still up 10 points while shooting 52%. The defense had a rough patch but was nearly flawless for the first 10-12 minutes. DePaul got some energy but never really was threatening. Then we ended the game early in the 2nd and rolled to an easy win!
Clear emphasis to have Tarris make decisions when he gets doubled. We forced him the ball almost every possession early and he waited for the double before looking for a shot. Led to good results to start, but bad habits crept in from time to time. Tarris' improvement at that part of his game is crucial
Another quiet game from Solo. I don't think he played poorly but the openings weren't there. He got going a bit in the second with 3 strong takes at the rim. I wonder how much is because of a mental block vs. how much is because defenses are still keyed in on him. And how much more time before defenses start shifting focus to Mullins? Pick your poison
Speaking of, special shoutout to Braylon Mullins. My expectations were high, I assumed that he'd get capped out at 10-13 PPG because of how good our starting 5 is, and he's still crushing every expectation. 16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 50/40/100 shooting
Let's go Huskies!
