Bama in a barn burner going away to North Dakota. Got to give Oates credit doing these type of away games so close to the SEC slate. I’d assume doing it as a gesture to Grant Nelson.

Got to love the gym - looks like it holds about 700. All these people have to be up at 4am to feed the livestock.

That's what I was thinking also. But why? He transferred to Alabama after 3 season at NDSU. It's not like he's a 3-4 year guy at Alabama. This is his 2nd year there.

2nd year there, came back after thinking portal/going pro. 2 years anywhere in the portal era is a century. Part of a final 4 team.

Michigan playing Oklahoma in a top 25 matchup and a good one. Michigan has some guy named Wolf that looks pretty good.

I don't know, just a little strange. And Nelson isn't even their best player. Would be like Hurley going to UTEP 2 seasons ago for Tristen Newton. Don't see the need. If he did it last year in Newton's 3rd year after coming off a championship I can see it.

Duke played Maine this year. I believe that was only done because of Flagg. Maybe Oates has a guilty conscience?

Jeremiah Fears doesn't get talked about enough, and like Flagg he's a true reclass up, not one of those guys who went back to his correct grade. Oklahoma getting him at the last minute was program changing.

Fears with the 4pt play with 12 secs left to win the game vs Michigan. 20pts in the 2nd half

Oklahoma got away with a crazy push in the back to end it there

The shot was huge. Someone will have to point out the foul to me though because I sure didn’t see it.

Friends and I constantly argue why teams don’t foul up three in that last possession. Put the other team on the line where they can make a max of two points. It’s amazing how often letting the other team take a three in those situations burns you. And in this case Michigan let them take the three and fouled the guy, to lose. Tough loss.

The SEC train keeps smoking ahead.

In this case it was too early. I think he shot with about 15 seconds left. If you foul before they take a three that soon, they just make both and cut it to one, and a lot can happen - you have to get the ball in against pressure, they have time to put a trap on you and get a turnover, and/or you have to make pressure free throws or you can lose in regulation.

of course you can lose in regulation with a four point play too.

It was around 11-12 seconds and on a neutral floor. But do agree with you maybe a bit too soon. Michigan has two bigs to run a proper inbounds, although not sure what Golden and Wolf shoot from the line. In this case if they could successfully inbounds to burn a couple seconds, OU needs another 3-5 seconds to get up the floor, you put them in a really rushed position. Idk for me I’d rather roll the dice in making their guy hit two free throws, and hopefully give them one extra rushed possession to need another three of which you could foul again if you have to.

It sucks to lose like that.

Because you're counting on a bunch of 18-19 year olds not screwing it up. College kids still make dumb mistakes sometimes. I'd need to be very confident in my team's IQ/experience to have them foul.

What's up with Alabama? Leading North Dakota by only 2 with a minute and a half left.
I too was surprised that Alabama played in Grand Forks ND. Credit to them for scheduling that game. They end up winning by 7. Props to Eaglestaff from ND Fighting Hawks who had 40. Alabama's Nelson had 23 in his return home.

6 offensive rebounds for Cincinnati in 2 minutes. Gonna be a long night for Dayton if they keep up the weak effort on the glass

Dayton looks like garbage! Where’s the team that killed us in Maui??

Remember when Dayton hung 85 on us? They just made their first FG of the game with 8:47 to go in the first half

Credit to Cincinnati in that first half. Their defense was SUFFOCATING

To be fair, if we played like that in Maui we’d have been called for 20 first half fouls. But the officials are letting both teams be physical and it’s a really fun game to watch even though it’s low scoring

dayton's dudes are tough but boy are they a tiny team. that's where being a power conference (big 12) probably benefitted the cats tonight.
