Nice jinx there.
No signature OOC win? I would say Baylor is a solid win. Gonzaga is still a good win on a neutral floor. Don't disagree on it being tough to be a 1 seed this year, but right now that is because of Maui. They roll through the BE, that could change.Gonna be real tough to get a 1 seed without a signature OOC win unless the SEC canabalizes itself but a 2 seed in the East is still in play and I’d sign up for that right now. Seems like Hurley settled on a 9 man rotation going into Xmas break. I’m sure they’ve been in the gym working on D and are now ready to tear thru the BE starting with DePaul. This is a chip worthy rotation if AM can give us 5 steady PG minutes in each half. Is that too much to ask?
Diarra 30 / Mahaney 10
Ball 25 / Ross 15
Liam 30 / Stew 10
Alex 35 / Stew 5

Sure they’re solid/good wins but both could be ranked in the high teens or twenties next week. Baylors best win is either Arkansas or SJU. Zags best win is against Baylor. Will be rooting for both so they turn back into signature wins but right now neither is as good of a win as it seemed at the time.No signature OOC win? I would say Baylor is a solid win. I'm more interested in at least playing in Providence the first week than if we are a 1 or 2 seed. Getting Newark too should be the goal.
i think we'd have to pretty much go 19-1 in BE play to get a 1 seed.No signature OOC win? I would say Baylor is a solid win. Gonzaga is still a good win on a neutral floor. Yes, that unquestionably would get it done considering that would put us at 26-5 in a year where there are very few if any elite teams. There's going to be a lot of teams racking up losses in conference play. 18-2 is going to be a tough task to even pull off for UConni think we'd have to pretty much go 19-1 in BE play to get a 1 seed.
Not because I think we'd deserve one, but because the SEC is going to beat eachother up. does 18-2 with wins over marquette and st. johns get it done? really questionable...but UNC got a garbage 1 seed last year, so who knows.
Are we also winning the BE tournament? If we go 19-1/18-2 plus the tournament we‘re easily a one seed. It’s still December, you‘re talking about losing 1-2 more times the rest of the season.i think we'd have to pretty much go 19-1 in BE play to get a 1 seed.

Nowell done before he started?
It's interesting because after Maui Hurley said he needs to play Nowell, then plays him only 5 minutes in the UMES game (was that all in garbage time?), then Nowell hurts his shoulder, is ready to play a couple weeks later and since then nothing. So what's up? Is Nowell just not ready? Is Hurley trying to get Mahaney going so no need for Nowell? I'd ask the question if I was a beat reporter. Was dressed last game and got a DNP. Maybe he’ll get break glass in case of emergency PT like Singare but I don’t see Hurley using a 10 man rotation. He’ll have to take Mahaneys spot
Hope he gets a chance to do that, love that kidWas dressed last game and got a DNP. Maybe he’ll get break glass in case of emergency PT like Singare but I don’t see Hurley using a 10 man rotation. He’ll have to take Mahaneys spot
committee has shown time and time again in recent years that they don't really care about conference tourneys when it comes to the top seedlines....and that they pretty much have the brackets done but for any bid stealers. Are we also winning the BE tournament? Win the Big East regular season and the rest will take care of itselfWhy worry about seeding right now? That's 2 1/2 months away. There is so much basketball left for UConn and everyone else. Not even worth thinking about right now.
Have to think that because he wasn’t practicing or playing for a couple weeks, with the holiday break, he was just giving the kid some time to get action oriented and worked back in. If he’s not getting run against DePaul, then something may be more to it.It's interesting because after Maui Hurley said he needs to play Nowell, then plays him only 5 minutes in the UMES game (was that all in garbage time?), then Nowell hurts his shoulder, is ready to play a couple weeks later and since then nothing. "Ahmad in the first half I liked," Dan Hurley said. "Ahmad in the second half, he showed his inexperience. But, he plays with some physicality out there. I think he's going to be a good player. I think we have to play him."
Well Hurley didn't say exactly when he was going to play him. I only assumed that meant now.
Mike WoodsonIU is 1 fo17 from 3.....how is that even possible in D1 basketball?
Very much - Woodson runs his offense through his bigs with very little action to set up his shooters. It doesn’t account for going 1-20, it’s just that it seems like he cannot attract players that can shoot because of it.Mike Woodson
Easy to see again why McNeeley reopened his recruitment and Mullins chose UConn over Indiana. Woodson's system just isn't good for either.Mike Woodson
That's cuz certain schools snap their fingers and steal them away.Very much - Woodson runs his offense through his bigs with very little action to set up his shooters. It doesn’t account for going 1-20, it’s just that it seems like he cannot attract players that can shoot because of it.
