Death Storm redux

Aaaaaannd.... It's over. I'm on the Monroe, Newtown line, and we got about 8 to 10 inches. Snow stopped almost an hour ago. Wet, heavy snow. Cleanup will be tough.

My girlfriend's folks live right there too...right off of High Bridge. Very pretty area

Crazy here. Transformer fire reflecting off the clouds and snow, combined with actual lightning, made it look like a freaking UFO was landing on our street.

A lot of wires and tree limbs down around Norwalk. A number burning. The snow is heavy and sticking to trees and wires but not so deep on the ground. That may be why people are still driving. A big mistake. Been very busy at the FD so far.

Norwalk fire fighter?

You’re not far from me, I’m off Fan Hill.

So final verdict, about 12-14” easy (may be more) of snow (and it’s still flurrying). Two turns with the snowblower and more than 50% of town without power, possibly for days, because trees snapped everywhere. It looks like a war-zone from what I’ve heard with major roads closed. Anyone that enjoys this is seriously demented.

Where are you? Wow.

Very western part of Albany County NY. At about 1,700’ and the elevation has an significant impact on snowfall and temps.

It’s funny because I was looking at pictures recently from 7 years ago where we had more than 6’ of snow in a week and I said to my wife “we don’t really get good snow anymore” - to quote the big orange “wrong”

West of us (Richmondville, NY) got 40” on Friday

I love snow, but let’s move it along at this point and get into spring. Snow this late just makes for a horrendous mud season.

Where are you at? In Glastonbury we've got power, but lots of snow. Haven't heard branches fall but they're all weighed down towards the ground.
North Jersey.

Got lucky again. Patterns are definitely changing. We used to get clobbered all the time, but the past few years have been weak. Maybe 8-9”, at 860’ elevation.

About 5-6" in Stratford of the heaviest snow I have ever encountered.

It's like shoveling mud. Good luck with opening schools tomorrow with no sidewalks cleared.

My wife's grandfather lives in Schenevus. He's down in Mississippi for the winter though and is aching to go home. Not happening for a while.

How much do like your neighbors?
Its not like lawn mowing; those unwritten rules don't apply. My plow guy usually gets here about 4 AM after his commercial jobs and nobody complains. This snow is heavy as hell.

You can't make this up. I know people in this state who have lost power once in 20 years . I lose it 4 times a year at least. I'm so done with this jerkwater town. 15 more months and I'm gone. I hate it here .
I'll have power back in 10 days I'm sure.

I’m safely tucked away in Floreda readying for the AAC tourney action.
When did you get out? My friends flight was cancelled and he can't get out until tomorrow am now. They better win today.
