Usually, I just poke fun at your unwarranted self-importance, pretension, and tendency to overreach. But this is pretty much a sentence-by-sentence bad post, including the literal writing errors you never picked up and corrected, ever after editing. Then I read the whole thread, and from the Abe Simpson GIF to the proper questioning of your going after the bad example being set for hypothetical kids, I figured you should have just hit the snooze button a couple more times a little past 7 in the morning.

Another page in, I softened some and considered that it could have been some time-shifted variant of a drunk post, but then I saw what you offered at the back end of a 9-5 workday, and those next two were much more in line with drunk posting.

Strangely, your closing bunch of individual responses, stayed more on topic but none were persuasive.

All of this makes it more impressive that you opened by functionally claiming to not care about Adams.

I had a great time this afternoon picking up my granddaughter from pre-school. The moment we walked into the house and neither her mother nor grandmother were home, she melted into tears, constant mantra repetition about wanting mommy, doing anything & everything she could to dis and dismiss me. Then, after mommy returned home, and pronounced her "over tired" and put on an animated Disney movie about a horse named "Spirit," peace returned.

When granddaughter was informed that Poppy was leaving, she turned to the door, waved, and happily bid me goodbye. She'd already acknowledged that we'd had earlier fun, and she thanked me for picking her up, with specificity and in language I'd never quite heard before.

The tantrum was part cleansing and part mulligan.

The ON3 quoted statement about the choice of Maryland was positive and hopeful, and premised in what Adams thinks will be available in playing for Buzz. I have no problem with any of it, and give extra points for Cooley losing the Capital area head-to-head recruiting battle.

The first part is just plain false as of last fall. So Adams knew at the time he committed that Mahaney wasn't a point guard (or a very good combo) and Nowell wasn't good enough for this level? He didn't and neither did Hurley. At the time Adams committed Mahaney/Nowell were thought to be equal to what Demary/Smith are today. But you don't seem to get that.

Your second point about it being a mutual decision isn't exactly correct. I'll leave it at that. Maybe Hurley will talk about it at some point but I doubt he will.

I’m typing from my phone 90% of the time Hans. I don’t have time for good grammar. My eyes and thumbs are still young enough to operate . Not all of us can lumber over to our 2001 Dells after our morning vodka and hunt and peck on an oversized keyboard.

This isn’t a forum for Old English enthusiasts your big goon, it’s a basketball message board. Do yourself a favor and go read some Tolkien and move off a topic your jibberish is almost impossible to interpret.

The competition at guard with Silas, Malachi, Solo, Braylon, and Furphy is miles ahead of the competition at guard when he signed. It's why it was a mutually beneficial decision for him to leave.

My post was a single take, tapped out on my phone with semi-tingly fingertips, and subject to autocorrect. After I post a long one, I'll re-read and edit the clear errors and brush things up a bit. You can probably do the before/after comparison with what you quoted.

Your excuses/explanations for your writing's deficiencies are actually pretty good arguments for you to not write. In this thread, you dug yourself a dumb hole; the usual good advice is to stop digging.

Since the last time I told you that your morning vodka & pipe image was clumsy fantasy, I haven't had even the bourbon I clued you as the local preference. You're failing on all cylinders; keep it coming, 3-part breathing, or sleep it off.

We're toeing a line here with what we're allowed to talk about from Storrs Central, but your statement is not true, superjohn is right about this being a mutual decision
 
FWIW, Buzz Williams is one of my favorite head coaches and I hopes he does well at Maryland.

That being said, I'm looking at their current roster and, with nine scholarships filled, there is space for Adams to make immediate impact in the backcourt.

Buzz is working with essentially a clean slate (only returnee is a 6'9 215 player), so here are Maryland's backcourt additions so far from the portal:

  • Myles Rice 6’3 180 JR from Indiana, 10p, 3r, 3a, 82 FT%
  • Isaiah Watts 6’3 170 JR from Washington State, 11p, 4r, 2a, 1.7s, 35 3P%,
  • David Coit 5’11 175 GR from Kansas, 15 mpg, at NIU, 21p, 3r, 3a, 34 3P%, 4.2 FTA, 89 FT%
  • Andre Mills 6’4 185 FR from Texas A&M, redshirted, #74 prospect
My guess is Rice and Watts are already locked into starting spots and the 3-guard spot is up for grabs. At the HM level, I see Coit as a microwave scorer off the bench, but Mills was brought over along w/ Buzz, so as it stands, Mills will battle Adams for PT at the 3.

Or, since Buzz is more of a blue collar offense type of guy that runs offenses that don't shoot a ton of threes, I can see a non-shooter like Solomon Washington at the 3 (which he played about half of his minutes at Texas A&M) with a shooter at the 4 like Virginia's Elijah Saunders.

Long story short, there's a better shot for PT for Adams at Maryland than UConn, but then again, they can still add players.

I did in my late 20s. It just didn't seem worth pulling up stakes and reestablishing business relationships. That said, for the right number I would've moved.

How was it mutually beneficial? Just clearing a roster spot?

This is one of the few times that the overused phrase "recruited over" seems to be applicable. I think Dan and the staff saw how much point guard play cost us last year, and I say that with no disrespect to Hass who was a hero for us getting out there and playing well on a banged up knee. I think Hurley was reluctant to rely on a talented, but unproven freshman to run the team. Adams, on the other hand, may have been justifiably, offended that other people were brought in to do the job that he was brought in to do. I think this is just one of those things that is a result of de facto free agency in the unrestricted transfer world.

Yeah you don't have to pay a year of NIL to develop a guy who will then transfer at the end of the year because he was mad he didn't play. NIL that could then be used to retain Karaban or bank for 2026 recruits.

The other half of this we seem to be ignoring is that in 24/25 the Mahaney / Nowell duo didn't work out, but it was always the intent that the same duo would return for 25/26. So not only did they have to correct for a miscalculation on what it takes to play PG in this system, but also replace both of them at the same time. When they recruiting Adams, they still thought Mahaney and Nowell would work out, so it wasn't like it was assumed that he would be stepping into a starting spot in the first place.

Aiden committed ~ April 29, 2024.

So definitely Darius saw Aiden, Nowell, Ball, Mullins as the 4 guards we would have this year for the better part of his commitment time with UConn.

Because Aiden had not worked as a PG last year, he likely then sae Nowell as his main competition, but once we got both Silas and Malachi it was game over.
