After watching some of his vids, I'm calling him "easy" Adams. He is a glider who never looks out of control even at high speed. Shows deep range. I'm sure he works his tail off but everything looks like it comes naturally to him. Easy Adams.

Looking up Moten's stats, I was shocked to find out that he averaged between 33 and 35 minutes a game and put up similar numbers throughout all four years at syracuse. He spread out his scoring between mostly 2-point baskets and at the free throw line, and knocking down less than two three pointers a game. Of all the years I've watched college hoops I can't remember another player who would put up 20 plus points most games where you just scratched your head at the end of the game as to where he got all of them. His two-point percentage shooting his junior year was 62.3% which I imagine is remarkable for a perimeter college player.

I compared that to Castle, Spencer, Rip Hamilton and Kittles and none came anywhere close to that. He was a very unique player. If Adams turns out to be similar to Moten but with a much better deep ball, we'll have something quite special. If he is able to add some muscle to that long frame and a little more quickness, he's going to be a force. I think we got a real good one.
We're very off topic at this point but who was the Syracuse player that we decided not to take and then he made us pay every time we met? Not Kadary Richmond. Preston Shumpert, right?

It felt like Shumpert killed us for like 8 straight years...

Donyell Marshall...check that...we came out on top in that battle. :)

Frankly, I don't remember who you might be thinking of, but Syracuse out recruited us in the past for a number of impact players. Seems like during the Calhoun years, whenever he really zeroed in on some top targets, Boeheim always seemed to be on many of the same ones.

Yeah, we did alright.

Donyell Marshall, Rudy Gay, Andre Jackson, and Donovan Clingan worked out pretty well for us.

“We recruit really good offensive players now and we force them to play defense,” Hurley said. “We force them to rebound the ball like it’s a life-or-death proposition, because ball possession represents life in my mind.”

“It’s hard to win championships and it’s hard to win a tournament like the NCAA Tournament unless you can score,” he said. “It’s hard to get out of the first round if you’re in a rock fight, because you feel enormous pressure in the first round of NCAA Tournament games when you coach at UConn. The best way to mitigate that is to have a high-power offense that can go on runs… to blow up a game because you’ve got firepower.”

God damn that dirk one foot step back from inside the 3pt line ????

The way and speed at which he gets off a contested non-spot up jumper is Steph-esque.

The only thing holding this kid back from being a problem is physical development. The foundation is all there.

not as good of a shooter as mullins but his shot looks better

He also plays against better competition than Mullins have ever seen on a nightly basis. They're both elite shooters. Mullins FT shooting consistently being 80%+ makes me think it my translate a smidge faster though

I might be off by a decade, but when we had Brian Fair, we had a road trip to Cuse, and he went off in every category, we won, and some Courant article jokingly said he drove the bus back to Storrs for us as well.

I think this, more than any single other factor, is the key to our success. Our offensive bball iq since the Maryland first round loss is off the charts. You can't teach IT. All three of these recruits are the definition of this philosophy #lukebliss

Great shooters know how to read defender's body language. When they're out of position-can't recover-can't close fast enough, etc. Both Adams and Mullins -in their own ways with their own tool kits-Need just a split second to get their shot off with a high percentage of 'makes". These guys are gonna be lethal together and when integrated into our offensive schemes/sets. Matchup nightmares for opponents. Reibe shares some similar skills for a Big when he steps out for the jumper.

Gonna be a fun ride with these dudes.

I remember when Calhoun came out of nowhere for Khalid, his final four were Kansas, UConn, Minnesota and Georgetown. That was huge, and his toying with the crowd at Pittsburgh home games was terrific.
