Agreed, Urshurak, the Huskies need to stop Garzon's three-pointers. In addition, it should be remembered that a number of Garzon's treys followed offensive rebounds tracked down by Maddy. Her 12 rebounds, including five on offense, were a goodly share of the huge edge Villanova held on the boards. I'm hopeful the Huskies won't permit so many second chances for the Wildcats tonight.

Agree. Their starters have played a lot of minutes the past two days.
 
Nova scored 23 in the first quarter yesterday but only 7 in the second. They score less than 10 in a quarter against UConn and you can stick a fork in them.
 
Right now, it looks like Nova's chances of an invite to the dance ae dependent on beating UCONN. So be ready to battle and if it needs to be brutal...then do what you need to do. Time for getting the end of the bench minutes has passed.

I would think so since currently they are the last team out per Charlie Creme. He doesn't get the final word, but if you beat the #6 team...AGAIN...how can you leave them out. right?

If ‘Nova wins, it’s in. If you win your conference tournament, you’re the conference’s automatic qualifier for the NCAA tourney. UConn would get an at-large invitation

The automatic qualifier thing is why you sometimes see a team with a 13-15 record in the NCAA’s. They got on a hot streak and won their conference tourney. Got to love the post-season!

Vegas gets a lot of action from UCONN bettors. They tend to inflate the spread a few points to encourage wagering on the opponent.
But I'm sure they have calculated the Villanova fatigue factor & the recent overwhelming UCONN success.

I would be impressed if they won by that much since I expect Villanova to fight like heck. I don't think beating them down and getting into a really physical battle will improve UCONN seeding. So...a comfy win would be my goal. No need to take on injuries at this point. BE teams need to work on their OOC scheduling.

Siegrist is going to get some points. She has to be harassed the entire game. Her shots have to be contested. She cannot be allowed to get offensive rebounds. She will also have to deal with Olivia, Dorka and Aaliyah.

Garzon must be contained. Herlihy must also be contained. Siegrist and Garzon are both 6' 1". Herlihy is 6' 0". We have the height to counter.

As a Poughkeepsie native, it's good to see a local girl on the national stage.

Geno usually has the opponents' best scorer work hard on defense. If Maddy has to run around trying to stop UCONN's fast breaks & up tempo offense, she will be exhausted. Especially after three games in three days!

The line just jumped 3 points to UCONN (-22.5). A lot of late money being wagered on the Huskies.
 
the same way uconn used to pound it inside for the first couple of baskets, i think they should key on setting double and triple screens for azzi so one of her first couple of shots goes in. and then shes off to the races instead of having her feel pressured to score the three pointer like the last game where many of her shots seemed almost off balance and forced. :)
 
I think Villanova will try and burn 20+ seconds of the shot clock and reduce the number of possession in the game to keep the score close.
 
Our team is going to be pissed about a few things. One, they beat us before but now we are at full strength. Two, BE POY? I think CW will show her feelings on that in a demonstrative way tonight. Third, everyone will be on a mission. Let's see. They will just keep on coming.
 
I'm sure the lack of effort Uconn had for 3 quarters in the last game they played them won't be a factor tonight..100% effort for 40 minutes and I think Uconn wins by 25

Years ago UConn men played LSU when they had Shaquille. It was pretty much Calhoun’s approach. Shaq scored a lot but nobody else and UConn won in a mild upset.

The Nova ace got 16, just off by 1 from the first game. The next three kids who had 19/15/11 in game one put up. 3/8/5. That and rebounds said it all. Now a week of blabber about who's bracket is better and where should we/could we/will we go. When they are clicking it matters a lot less.
