NOT saying I agree with this (I don't), but apparently, this is the rule the refs could point to, to justify Hurley's second T....
“The coach shall respect and support contest officials. The coach shall not indulge in conduct which would incite players or spectators against the officials. Public criticism of officials or players is unethical.”
Thoughts?
There's a rule where "by the book" a ref could eject a coach under basically any circumstance.
The issue is, of course, enforcement. Coaches do this stuff all the time with impunity. Hurley had no reasonable reason to think he'd be ejected.
