RIP to a solid actor. I remember getting into Peter Greenaway films back in the day and Dennehy starred in one, "The Belly of an Architect". Amazing performance, although few other than critics actually saw the movie. Would've loved to have seen him perform on stage.

Robert Mitchum born Bridgeport, Ct. (like Brian). Local folklore had it Mitchum lived on corner Carroll Avenue and Stratford Avenue as a kid, few blocks from where I grew up (30 years later).

Mitchum's mother was widowed and couldn't handle him, so she sent him to live with her parents n Delaware when he was 12 or 13.
Dennehy didn't stick around Bridgeport for long either. His family moved to Shelton when he was 8 or 9, and then to Derby.
So you grew up a block or two from C&C Pizzeria?
I too am an East Ender -- Bunnell St born and raised.
