I was disappointed that Cool Hand Luke was off again today. When you put 10 away fans the likes of me want it all the time. Come Big Dance time I want her killing it. Yes, she does other things and put 8 on the board , and she was hardly needed today, but my motto is It is not enough to win, others must lose. It's just in my nature and I really love this kid.

I had it on mute most of the game and I also had close captions on. There was never a break in the sentences. He and Adams need to learn how to call a game, not have a rambling, irrelevant conversation. Listening to him makes the game unenjoyable no matter how well we are playing. Just awful.

I really like Kayleigh!!! She’s become of one my favorites.

She seems to have a special connection with El Alfy, finds her with great passes on a regular basis. They play off each other very well.

I think that’s the biggest thing on this team that we haven’t seen in years; we’ve had talented players coming off the bench, but Kayleigh has a particularly great connection with Allie and Jana. It’s been a minute since we had a second unit get so much run together and gel the way starters do. That’s why there is so little drop off until we really go to the end of the bench (and even then not much drop off, aside from the zone defense that always lets the opponent close the gap with meaningless 3s).

There were some claims on twitter coming from the USC supporters that Heckel didn’t really share the ball; that it wasn’t her specialty. I don’t agree with that assessment at all. If anything; she is another one that should probably look to shoot more.

That probably says more about the priorities that get rewards by the USC coaches, i.e Juju.... Obviously the UConn system lets her duality shine. She can clearly dish and score.

I agree. I put it on mute too. I think it’s bad when even diehard UConn fans can’t stomach the incessant love fest. Call the game please!

Question for my astute UCONN colleagues:
With Texas beating South Carolina, several bracketologists have the Longhorns jumping to the third #1 seed & the Gamecocks dropping to the fourth #1 seed.
If they both advance to the Final Four, does that mean top seed UCONN would play South Carolina in the semifinal game instead of playing Texas?

If UConn remains number 1 overall… I would assume so.

I thought KK and Heckel played amazing today. Obviously not surprised with Azzi and Sarah.

I said after the first game that UConn has the best guard corps in the nation. And that was before Kayleigh and Allie had really turned on. I’d hate to be a coach breathing a sigh of relief when KK leaves and then seeing Heckel wreaking havoc. And UConn has KK, Ash, Allie, and Kayleigh all coming back next year.

It was with a great sense of pride watching the Huskies play the last 2 games as they sense what time of the year it is and they pull it up several notches and I can't wait for tomorrows final vs Villanova!

What I saw is Sarah got away with an obvious foul against Bofelli at one end and the refs tried to fix it with a makeup call on Serah at the other end. Fair enough. But it meant Serah was in a hole not of her own making right from the start. When she committed a real foul a few minutes later, she had to sit. That wasn’t her fault. It’s the cost of inconsistent whistles.

While many of Jana's fouls are just her getting physical, some of Serah's the past few games were phantoms-i.e. in the replay, you say she didn't touch the other player. Not sure why this is happening so much. At least Jana is earning her fouls.

UConn becomes a different team in March. All the players show huge improvements from the beginning of the season.
Former coach from ND should take notice.

I agree that they should just announce the game. But those days are over!
Every game is sabotaged by nonstop conversation & irrelevant rhetoric by self- anointed "experts".
If we have to tolerate the studio style conversations, I prefer Fanta &Kim Adams with their knowledge & passion.

I luv how others besides Azzi and Sarah are starting to shine. KK, K9, Allie. Jana to me, has shown great improvement on rebounding and coming out on the perimeter to guard the 3ball and stil hustleback for boards. She seems to want to own the rebounds when she is in there. Maybe one of stat people can figure out how many rebounds per minute she has. She still hasn't topped the crossover dribble that she did against South Carolina from the foul line in the final 4 last year. I am waiting for her to top that.

I went to the game with a friend who is not generally a basketball fan. She started an interest last year when she saw how UConn passed and defended. This was her first in-person game.
She immediately noticed KK and Sarah. About Sarah, she said "It's like everything is moving fast, she's moving fast, and then time just slows down as she gets the ball and shoots".

Forgot to mention this. But Allie is very crafty around the basket. She is cutting well and often times drives to the basket in the most efficient line. I also like how she spaces herself when she catches and shoots the 3. No one mentions her basketball IQ, but she has a crafty, non sped up game to her.

4 fouls in 6 minutes is really bad for Serah. I guess she got in Geno's doghouse so she did not go back in. If she got her 5th foul, who cared. But it seems like after a good day before, you might give her more minutes to try to keep it going. But I guess he was sending her a message, if you can't stay in the game, we can rely on you. My take on Serah yesterday is that she started out the game aggressively, playing with more confidence after her last 2 games where she played well. Unfortunately, she was playing with a little too much agressiveness, committing several silly fouls. I am hoping that she finds that happy medium today between agressive and intelligent play.
