1967 Movie Cool Hand Luke with Paul Newman nicknamed Cool Hand Luke. It came to be synonymous with unflappable performance. So all sorts of people adopted Cool Hand Luke as their nickname on the basketball court.Sorry, but who's Cool Hand Luke?
Iowa failed to do that against UCLA.An epic beatdown. Creighton earned some respect by closing to within 50. They have a scrappy young team that could be formidable over the next few years.
Sarah was Awesome. And the usual suspects did the usual things. And KK had her best game of the year.
Right, and she also led the team in rebounds and assists! In her 1st season as a Husky, Kayleigh Heckel has quickly bought into UCONN's philosophy of "EVERYBODY EATS".
She was determined to set up her teammates for easy baskets.
Once she fed everyone, she added a portion of points for herself!
Nope, we weren't. One on Serah was because they missed an obvious call on Sarah and chose Serah to make up for it, because they were still thinking about her Georgetown incident.Blaming the refs for the 6 fouls that were fouls!? We obviously weren’t watching the same game
Sorry, again. I know about the movie but who on UConn is Cool Hand Luke?1967 Movie Cool Hand Luke with Paul Newman nicknamed Cool Hand Luke. It came to be synonymous with unflappable performance. So all sorts of people adopted Cool Hand Luke as their nickname on the basketball court.
Why Allie of course. And Azzi. And Sarah.Sorry, again. I know about the movie but who on UConn is Cool Hand Luke?
Blanca has had better games for sure. The missed layups don't bother me all that much. Like many a freshman she tends to try too hard and gets kind of wound up, resulting in dribbling into dead ends and putting way too much oomph on layups. She has lots of talent and athletism as we all know. Once things slow down - both her and the game in general - she'll be more than fine. Soon enough she'll be able to be the player she so wants to be. Fortunately she's on a team that gives her the luxury of making mistakes and learning how to play.Very impressive overall game from UCONN. Sarah proved again that she is the National Player of the Year. Azzi showed again why she will be a Top 5 pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft. KK Arnold exhibited why she is the Top Point Guard in the Country, and Ashlynn, again put on another display of Excellence in 2 way production. All 4 had solid games. Off the bench we saw outstanding production from K9, Jana El Alfy and Allie. The only downside from today's game was that Bianca had one of her worst games at UCONN. And Serah's foul issues and overall non productive day, showed a few kinks in the UCONN armor. Thank goodness this team has players like K9, Allie, and notably Jana El Alfy to pick up the slack.
Enthusiasm is his thing. I like to be an optimist so with the men's games the more we hear Fanta, the less we hear Donny Marshall.Fanta blabs too much
When they called that foul of Serah, my first thought was "makeup foul".Nope, we weren't. One one Serah was because they missed an obvious call on Sarah and chose Serah to make up for it, because they were still thinking about her Georgetown incident.
Yes. Blanca looked like a raw freshman today. Except on defense, where she was solid. Also, she is not comfortable as a ball handler. Something to work on. She picks up her trouble too fast, in most cases. Which forces a pass that can go astray.-When Sarah plays like she did in the first half, it is foolish to consider anybody else as NPOY.
-KK had a perfect first half and it was ALMOST overshadowed by Sarah’s play.
-K9 playing against second teamers in mop up time is unfair because she does not ever go any speed but full. What a game today.
-Geno’s trust in Allie is approaching the same level as Geno has in Ash.
-It was nice seeing Ash shake off yesterday’s doughnut.
-Two nitpicks that do not overshadow the clinic they put on. Serah foul trouble making her a non factor and Blanca’s inability to finish.
-I wonder how long Geno sticks with the goatee.
To continue with the "love fest," for some reason during this game I was thinking about all the people last spring/summer claiming that Kayleigh was an unnecessary piece and were negative about adding her to this team.Agreed. Heckel plays like a true blue Husky to me! Always passing up a good shot for a great shot.
Just goes to show you how UConn coaches/develops their playersThere were some claims on twitter coming from the USC supporters that Heckel didn’t really share the ball; that it wasn’t her specialty. I don’t agree with that assessment at all. If anything; she is another one that should probably look to shoot more.
