You're blaming that on pace? LmfaoThe BYers wishing for a faster pace got their wish.
How did that work out for you?

I never really got into threads about seeding because I was more concerned about how UConn was playing and like most of us I wasn't too impressed with what I saw after OOC. The Georgetown game at Gampel made me recalibrate my expectations.None of this was surprising and that's what's upsetting. The team hasn't looked anything like it did in the out of conference schedule and each game is getting worse. The defense has fallen off a cliff.
Honestly, one of Hurley's worst coached games at UConn. He gives AK and Solo way too much rope. No adjustments. When we had the lead he let guys jack up terrible shots and we stopped going to Tarris.
We can forget all about seeding. Just have to hope the team figures things out and starts playing way better because the version we've seen lately can forget about any championships or going far in the tournament.
This is not the game for that complaint. Reibe looked totally lost defensively. His help defense seems to have regressed. Got turned around the wrong way a lot and left wide open lanes tonight.Reibe and his camp have to be furious about how Hurley has continued to divy up minutes when it’s clear Reed doesn’t play with the intensity needed and is a black hole on offense. Reibe goes 100% and the team is better with him than with Reed
You mean Ross? The Silas-Solo-Braylon-AK-TR starting lineup.
It's too duplicative and you end up with three guys waiting around for Silas to get them the ball for a three. And when you have a very high volume shooter like Solo who really does not add much if he's not scoring, the lineup does not work that well.
I've wanted them to break that lineup up with Reed or Stewart. You add a bigger body on defense and for rebounding and he's not going to sit and wait on his shot. E.g. We looked our best in the second half when we started with Reed in for Solo. Once Solo came back, he immediately front rimmed a long three and the Creighton run began.
I agree, Reibe actually protects the rim. We made out late 1st half run with him in the game.Reibe and his camp have to be furious about how Hurley has continued to divy up minutes when it’s clear Reed doesn’t play with the intensity needed and is a black hole on offense. Who caresHere comes everyone who never posts except when we lose! Let's count them.
I knew 2014 and this is no 2014 team.
Don’t forget unforced turnoversMcDermott is now 10-5 against Hurley, just consistently takes his lunch. UConn is allergic to making big runs: they make a small surge then they try to go for these daggers on offense and on defense. Tough 3s, go for steals, huge blocks, fouls etc. Instead of just playing, hunting good looks, contain defense & it leads to huge runs the other way. Creighton is about to get smoked by St John’s on Saturday which makes is that much worse. Brutal loss
Haha you’re very rightAt least the vibe on the boneyard is matching the outcome now lmao
There’s one!Who cares
I want to see more Ross. He gives us more defense than any of our other players. He still gets beat especially inside at times due to be skiiny but overall had a good game and should of been in there more than Ball for sure during the 2nd half.It was the lineup you asked for in Silas Mullins Ross AK Reed
Like we’ve been saying all along, it just makes sense role wise for these group of guys to play together. Whether the two is Mullins or Solo.
Must have missed when we were in the ACC lolMarch 8, 2014.
Louisville 81 UConn 48.
Lost the last regular season game.
March 15, 2014
Louisville 71 UConn 61.
Lost the ACC tournament game.
April 7,2014
UConn 60 Kentucky 54
National Champions
Trying to provide some perspective here because I remember reading these same kind of quotes after the losses in 2014.
He's played too many minutes the past two seasons and given all the rope in the world, Solo is given way too much rope as well. This board was telling me a few weeks ago AK playing 35+ minutes was a necessity lol
Yup - having two snipers at the 2 and the 3 hunting shots is just not something you need. It's imbalanced. The two of them are trying to jack it up anytime they get their hands on it, and then we have two deficient defenders. It was the lineup you asked for in Silas Mullins Ross AK Reed

Hurley was forced to sit Solo with three fouls, we’re finally rolling defensively, and as soon as he brings him back in Creighton goes on the 11-2 run. He’s already subpar on defense so if he’s bringing nothing to the table on the offensive end not sure why he’s playing in a game we can’t stop anyone. That lineup to start the second half did pretty well. Not sure why we changed it 4 minutes in.
Certifiably wrong. We lose without him vs Georgetown. Gross overreaction but wouldn’t expect anything less on here. He’s been absent for about 3 games. Love him but he’s vanished
Yeah, I really liked how they came out on both ends of the floor to start the second half. That lineup to start the second half did pretty well. Not sure why we changed it 4 minutes in.
Yeah ball is better as a microwave off the bench. He isn't starter material for a top team with lofty goals.Agreed. This team is probably not going to be a 7 seed like that team was.
Silas-Braylon-Ross-Karaban-Reed on Saturday. Just do it.
He's played too many minutes the past two seasons and given all the rope in the world, Solo is given way too much rope as well.
The problem is we have no good backups but something has to change. Ross isn't nearly good enough but I want him playing more and Solo and AK sitting more when they're flat out hurting the team with their play.
Everybody bitchin about AK. Coaches have figured out, to beat UConn, you have to take out AK. That means others need to step up. Others did not. There are few games where AK is a no show, which is why there are few UConn losses this year. AK is the most important piece to this team. I am not talking individual skills, but team skills. He is critical for UConn's style of game. But when he is off, others must produce. Start with others making bunnies and making free throws!Did Karaban play tonight? Yikes
He plays Ross more.Yup - having two snipers at the 2 and the 3 hunting shots is just not something you need. It's imbalanced. The two of them are trying to jack it up anytime they get their hands on it, and then we have two deficient defenders.
I honestly don't know what Hurley does to mix it up, but that lineup doesn't work.
