The women and men both played equally bad today. Both teams saw about a 35 point swing since the last time they faced these teams. What the hell is going on???

This team is just not very good right now. Teams have figured out our defense. We foul non stop. AK is so easy to shut down.

Mullins shot good but they went on their run when Mullins was trying to take over and missed 4 straight. They scored everytime. We stopped running Demery and Reed then when we did it was too late and we missed everything.

I see a few more loses this season. At least 2 maybe 3. Probably a 3 seed.

None of this was surprising and that's what's upsetting. The team hasn't looked anything like it did in the out of conference schedule and each game is getting worse. The defense has fallen off a cliff.

Honestly, one of Hurley's worst coached games at UConn. He gives AK and Solo way too much rope. No adjustments. When we had the lead he let guys jack up terrible shots and we stopped going to Tarris.

We can forget all about seeding. Just have to hope the team figures things out and starts playing way better because the version we've seen lately can forget about any championships or going far in the tournament.

.-.
Not shocked. We've been waiting for this to happen for the entirety of the conference season and now it has.

We're really not very good.

But worse, we're not very good by design. Our best rotations are rotations that we avoid because we feel some kind of obligation to certain players.

Anyway, that's the one seed done.
Which rotations? I'm curious what better analysts than me think...

This game was teetering for Creighton when we started executing our offense out of half time. We had two ill-advised early threes by AK and one by Braylon where we ran nothing beforehand. Killed momentum and prevented us from dealing a potential death blow.
The perils of giving up 45 first half points. You have zero room for error.
The Solo low floor absolutely kills this team.
Obviously we aren't winning when we get a huge negative from Karaban, on top of Solo.
We actually had good enough bench play today. But this team really feels like a mirror of last year, spurts of pretty good ball....but not really an identity.

This was a game where it felt like a team of complementary players. Other than Silas, there is just no one that’s going to collapse the defense and go create and it makes it very easy to just switch everything on us and blow up the actions.

Starting to get exposed for a shear lack of athleticism.

Braylon Mullins moved at a completely different speed than everyone else, and I’m starting to get tired of this sluggish offense.

So many missed bunnies.

Gross.

I’m not holding my breath on this
Yeah, normally I would agree with the post you responded to, but our response should have happened after the St John’s loss. This was a poor Creighton team and the way we played tonight has been a trend lately.

We need to figure out something defensively and show more fight. How many times did they blow right by our defenders tonight? No strong presence defensively

Offensively we have resorted to a 3 point chucking team and are not aggressive driving the ball when things break down and we can’t seem to finish strong inside

That was tough to watch.

We have the shooting to go far, and I still believe Hurley can fix this defense again, so I remain hopeful

We aren’t the hunters anymore. We are the hunted. Wounded prey hiding for safety from the big bad wolves like Creighton and St. Johns. This team will be lucky to make the sweet 16. Our shot selection is putrid. Solo and Karaban just chuck shots and pray they go in. The only way we do anything in the tourney is if Mullins and Demary carry us on their backs. We don’t deserve to be anywhere close to the top 10. We just kissed any chance of a #1 seed, good bye.
Being "hunted" by Creighton is like a Husky being hunted by a Chihuahua. This is a joke. Champions don't lose at home to a .500 team.

The Silas-Solo-Braylon-AK-TR starting lineup.

It's too duplicative and you end up with three guys waiting around for Silas to get them the ball for a three. And when you have a very high volume shooter like Solo who really does not add much if he's not scoring, the lineup does not work that well.

I've wanted them to break that lineup up with Reed or Stewart. You add a bigger body on defense and for rebounding and he's not going to sit and wait on his shot. E.g. We looked our best in the second half when we started with Reed in for Solo. Once Solo came back, he immediately front rimmed a long three and the Creighton run began.

Ball is really a liability for us when he can't hit shots. Karaban to some extent too. I would like to see Demary looking for his scoring more. He defers too much and ends up making some bad passes. Our defense has been awful and we have no rim protector now. Maybe we need to play zone. Good game from Ross. He should of played more in the 2nd half. I think we were overrated as a top 10 seed. I think we are somewhere in the 15-20 range. We just don't have enough good defense and consistent scoring can be an issues to be a top team this year. I think if we can get to Elite 8 that would be goal met. Also, when we were behind there was no urgency from Demary to push the ball. That is unacceptable. We need to learn to get out of our fixed offense at times. It is becoming too easy to play us with our sets on the permeter.

We came out the beginning of the second half playing desperate and jumped out to a 7 point lead and Ball was on the bench. Ball comes in cold and immediately jacks up two bad shots. He's playing to pad his stats and not as a team player. Don't tell me other players don't know that. There is definitely something off chemistry wise with this team

Reibe and his camp have to be furious about how Hurley has continued to divy up minutes when it’s clear Reed doesn’t play with the intensity needed and is a black hole on offense. Reibe goes 100% and the team is better with him than with Reed
