Neat little article detailing who could replace the legend Patrick Ewing. I (secretly) hope Georgetown could pull off another miracle run in the big east tournament like last year just so the big east could have 8 teams in the big dance.

Who would you like to see take over as head coach of Georgetown? And when do you think we can see a new coach?

Ed Cooley for the comedy aspect. Realistically someone who can build his own program instead of pining for the glory days none of the recruits were alive for.

He's a Georgetown legend, a Big East legend, heck, even an NBA legend, but if he can't be a good coach then he shouldn't be coach. The Big East needs a good Georgetown program and currently they're awful.

Georgetown is an awesome job for the right guy. It needs someone to bring the program back to elite status. For the school and for the big east. I hope they are not looking at Mr. Young.

Receiving a contract extension in 2021 does not mean he’s back for 22-23. Lengths of contracts are meaningless, it’s all about the buy-out.

I openly hope Georgetown does not win the BE Tournament :)

Kimani Young could do well there but after Ewing they might want someone with hc experience. Kimani could turn that program around pretty quickly

Since the school announced he would be back next year just last week, I’m thinking it’s unlikely.
The school didn't announce he would be back. They signed him to an extension after he won the Big East tournament last season. That's old news, not sure why it was just reported last week.

Mack would be a very solid hire for them but doesn’t sound like he’s going to immediately come back to coaching next year.

John Thompson was 31 when he got the Georgetown gig, with 6 years of HS coaching experience. I think they should be able to find a young experienced coach that connects with the kids. Kimani is in his 40's about the same age as Hurley. That's the ticket.

Mike jones.

It's a shame they'd never go for Pitino because boy would that be fun.

Also Pitino would make G'town a top 20 team within 2 years.

Patrick Ewing's name is etched on one of the cornerstones of the Big East Conference and we should all wish him success.

It may be time for a change though and I hope Georgetown gets it right when they announce it, which I'm sure they will. Blame it on wanting to spend more time with the family and then Val Ackerman declares him a "Lifetime Ambasador" for the BE Conference.
