Cooper Flagg sets ACC Freshman record

Tribal energy has been with us before we came down from the trees. It’s a biological issue.
Love when we start getting into evolution and mass psychology, now we’re talking. lol, awesome.

Are you kidding?

Cooper Flagg is so undersold this year, and I’m actually surprised by it. He really hasn’t moved the national needle at all to this point. Coming into this year I thought it was going to be Zion circus 2.0. It’s not. At all.
Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander agree with you.

CBS Sports, ESPN have Flagg headlines and images all over their ncaa bk sites. I vehemently disagree that he is undersold. If he was a stock he would be frothy and oversold.

I thought this year would be different for the men's game with a great freshman class highlighted by Flagg, if even he can't move the needle much I'm not sure what will

It's strange, the men's game is no longer promoted. There's very little advertising for the big games, there's very little talk on the sports shows about the men's game, there never seems to be any features on the players anymore, Big Monday and Super Tuesday don't even seem to be a thing anymore. If it is, it's certainly not promoted. The only hype around it now is the one month with conference tournaments and March Madness but even that doesn't seem to get the hype it used to.

I have no idea why but in recent years there seems to be a concerted effort to pretend men's college basketball doesn't exist.

I think the tournament, as great as it is, diminishes the "regular season" a little bit so the hype to see people or teams play is lessened to a degree. I believe that once we are approaching March you will see more hype around college basketball. Plus, we are still in the heart of the NFL playoffs. Hell, even College Football hasn't played their National Championship game yet. I feel like once the NFL is over then there will be a lot more interest and promotion in college basketball.

Honestly, their D is pretty tough. Might make them Scheyer-proof. They are big at every position with a 7-2 guy in the back. That’s a formula we know works.

Offensively they run middle school stuff, but they have shot makers so simple stuff can work. Wasn’t like we ran the “picket fence” with Kemba. If their freshmen have a bad day on the big stage, they can be upset, but they’ll be a tough out. I don’t think their imported veterans (Gillis, James, Brown) are going to be guys they want making offensive plays in tight games.
James Brown is playing for them?
Funky!

they're still a thing but certainly not promoted to the extent of what it used to be, Big East not being on ESPN and part of that Big Monday lineup certainly doesn't help. back in the day you used to have the Saturday games promoting that Big Monday slate as well and Big East Monday doesn't exist anymore.

This is a great point. ESPN may not be as good as they used to be but one area that they absolutely shine in is self promotion. If the Big East was still on ESPN they would be promoting the crap out of College Basketball and the Big East.

He’s a long 6’9”, a 3 or even NBA 4.
Probably he'll settle as a 3, but can see him being able to play 2-4 too. Probably could switch on everyone except 5 in spurts.
I still don't understand this thread got its own thread and wasn't posted in the "other NCAA games" thread. If people want to glaze Flagg they can head to a DOOK board.
