Yeah everyone needs to learn how to lose.Dream school under Coach K is not the same as dream school under Coach JS, but it will be a nice learning experience for him.
That is very true. Scheyer was horrible today. Was out coached being late to make any adjustments and having a confused look on his face through out the game. Perhaps Duke has a losing season and they fire him Flagg can always reconsider. But would we want him at this point. I am trying not to watch when he is on tv, but it’s hard not to. He embodies everything you would look for in a 2023 basketball player. A true 6’9” with 7’ wingspan. Can play and guard at least three positions maybe four. He shoots well has ++ jumping ability plays ridiculous defense especially off ball blocking shots and getting in passing lanes.Yeah everyone needs to learn how to lose.
Didn't his parents move across the street from the Duke campus?
For real. I honestly could not care less about CF the second after he commited to duke and just as i said then and ill say it now good luck kid because Scheyer is not that guy pal! Lol!The kid is staying at Duke so to hell with him

We all heal differently. Every chance I get I want to point out that he picked a clueless HC over a HC who is going to the be in the HoF. But if the mods decide to lock the thread that is fine with me. I want to move past it but until his time is over at Dook there will be constant reminders. The kid is staying at Duke so to hell with him

Coach K gave a brief statement on the job Scheyer is doing.Scheyer isn't going to last past next year unless he really ups his game.

I wonder. Theyd be smart to just cut him but I’m skeptical with his place in the program and him being K’s handpicked successor. Firing him after two seasons with the recruiting class he has coming in would cause major waves within the program.Scheyer isn't going to last past next year unless he really ups his game.
Yeah. us. For awhile. National Championship.I wonder. Theyd be smart to just cut him but I’m skeptical with his place in the program and him being K’s handpicked successor. Firing him after two seasons with the recruiting class he has coming in would cause major waves within the program.
On a related note, has the handpicked successor thing ever worked at a top program?
The Duke he dreamed of play for, no longer exists. But he has always dreamed of playing for Duke! I thought he was smart. But he is just unoriginal.
Yup, and early exit = less games = less risk of injury. Then off to the NBA.Duke is the perfect place for him. He’ll play iso ball. Never have to pass. Score 20+ ppg. Go out in Round of 32. Done by St. patty’s day.

Agree on all points. You are correct the only reason we are throwing any shade his way is because he did not pick us. Then your points about his playing skills and make up are all spot on. And because of that he would have fit better with our program. The problem with Duke moving forward as I see it, Scheyer is just not enough of an alpha leader to get all those 5* to play together. Even Coach K had his issues with that challenge. So that is going to create IMO unneeded pressures on CF for the one year he is there. Dook better hope he brings them another Chip because he is the only player I have seen recently that has enough of all the qualities you mention to help bring a team together when the coach is not capable of doing it. If Scheyer does not win with CF he will not be back, the boosters will circle the wagons. He could have honed his skills so much better playing in a culture that maximizes those skills. But of course everything about my analysis is biased and I get that reality.I know we want to crap all over him because he didn't commit here, but he's actually a team-first player. Much, much moreso than most top draft picks. His best qualities are defense and passing.
I don't agree with you on Duke. If they fire Scheyer because he ruins the program then they'll be able to get a really good coach and then they'll be back. Coach K isn't the only coach in the world who can win at Duke. As we've seen at UConn with Calhoun.Duke is just another program with K gone. Sure they are a good academic program and have a rich alumni base that can pay more than most in NIL, but so can Northwestern and Vandy and Stanford. Duke's "blue blood" status is going to fade quickly.
Another genius take by that guy"Duke's blue blood status is going to fade quickly". LOL
