Facing lower competition in the CYO, pc might actually back in to an NCAA tourney some year. Not so sure pc will qualify next year either, but we'll be there if the Friars manage to pull off enough wins. If not, pc might make it to the NIT again. (no ill intent, and only some good natured kidding for the classy Sean).

I like sean and friar. They get engaged sometimes but overall they have decent things to say about UConn. Both hate the loss of the rivalry and the demise of the BE!

Every visitor I have talked to at Gampel is completely enamored with the atmosphere and venue. I sat near a very nice older UVM couple and they were like "we play in a gym with wooden bleachers and no seats behind the basket and you guys only play half your games here?" Some obnoxious GTown fans near me were like "wow in 4 years at Georgetown I've never been part of a crowd like this." A USF fan mentioned they would never be able to have an arena like ours. And this isn't our main arena. UGH. I know all the reasons about playing in Hartford but still.

Jerry strikes me as a very unpleasant dude.

In all honesty, Providence did not have a bad year - their roster was a disaster early on and like UConn, there are some losses that would have been wins at full strength.

I think they were picked last or so - all in all, not a bad result.

Providence has some nice players and probably would have won if Dunn hadn't fouled out. Lots of PC fans there yesterday. Some were very vocal. Two in front of me were abusive toward Boatright all game calling him a jackass and screaming that he was horrible every time he went to the free throw line. That made the win that much sweeter as Boat starred at crunch time and led us to the win. They shut up as soon as the outcome was certain. I hope they had a miserable ride home.
