C-USA is a feeder conference for other conferences. I wonder how many teams have been inC-USA at one time or another. Somehow they keep surviving.

First Connecticut did everything they could to lose the Whalers and got played by Robert Kraft ( Patriots ) into thinking that they would relocate to Hartford so he could get a better deal from Massachusetts and now while Cincinnati’s football team is going to the Big 12 UConn’ s football team is going to join the conference ( conference USA) that just lost 6 members to our old conference the AAC… See a pattern here… I do . While I still brag about being from Connecticut and UConn ( glad I’m not originally from my current state of Florida , red necks and all) Connecticut has always been small time when it’s comes to sports and casinos ( Steve Winn) and attractions that would make money for the state and give people things to do. And please don’t take credit for the 2 HOF UConn basketball coaches, ( Kevin Ollie, and the last 3 football coaches) Everyone gets lucky once in a while and catches lightning in a bottle). I feel for you guys , I really do. Just saying

LMAO. Would you please list each and every "everyone" who has caught lightning in a bottle with 4 national basketball championships in the last 25 years? Or would it just be easier to admit you're an idiot who is full of crap? And I'm not even going to bother asking you to list all the "everyones" who have accomplished what we have on the women's side.

Case in point
You clearly haven’t been paying attention for the last 11 years. Every wrong decision that could be made has been made. So, I take nothing for granted.

We are an interesting fan base. 10 pages on this drivel. PTSD?

This is the only important comment in the thread. Proof that our fanbase consists of a group of middle school girls who can't help needing to worry about everything that someone else says.

Oh, for the good old days of the Cesspool, whose conversations looked good compared to this one.

I would not hate this move
When are people gonna realize that the building is empty, and the glory days are gone!! We will never see another Fiesta bowl, look back fondly at ND( 11 years this weekend) running on the field vs Pitt and WV and smile. It was a good run but the truth is we are nothing better than a FCS program

I could be wrong. But I think UConn is just playing nice and isn’t seriously considering this.
You aren't wrong. Our schedule is better than it would be in CUSA. Our CBS TV football deal...as one of the worst programs imaginable on field, pays more than their TV deal. And that's all sports for them. There is nothing to this. If UMass can get a bowl tie in, UConn can get a bowl tie in. Let's wait until we win double digit games to worry about that though.

Benedict has already said it was just exploratory.

The ultimate triumph of round all over football. Yup, the Guv is all in on football alright. Better to step back to FCS and restart the Yankee conference than this.
round ball. Sorry. Yeah, I dislike it too, uconnbill.

>“We want to try to align ourselves, whether we’re independent or in a conference, to something that is going to help us elevate our recruiting, elevate our fan interest and something that is going to provide an opportunity to compete at a high level,” Benedict said. “Part of that is obviously being able to schedule games that are geographically relevant. That helps you recruit. If you can recruit well, you can be competitive. If you recruit well and you’re competitive, then your fans come — especially if they recognize the opponents you are playing.”

Benedict has discussed with Conference USA commissioner Judy MacLeod the future of his football program and her conference. That’s it. There are no negotiations taking place. When the phone rings, Benedict answers and he will continue to. For athletic directors far and wide, this has been, and continues to be, a time of information gathering and preparation for whatever is around the corner.<
