13 minutes of good ball to end the first half and the rest, blah.

Free throw shooting was bad. Rebounding should be much better. Too many fouls in the second half.

Nobody got hurt.

Columbia may be not too bad - they ran some good sets and hit some tough shots.

We'll finally get to see where we really stack up on Saturday.

Hurley getting ready for the upcoming big games by tightening the minutes rotation tonight. A couple of spot minutes by Millender and Koroma during the meat of the game but basically going with the starters along with Ross, Reibe and Smith.

Another great game by AK. I liked how he dunked from jumping off of one foot on that first half fast break instead two feet like he usually does.

What a fun first half. Karaban on fire and dunking on people. Ross turned into prime Klay Thompson. Solo missed a couple early but was still scoring at will. Team defense was outstanding

Was fun to watch Tarris feast early in the second half. The rest of that half was YIKES. I’m sure it’ll get cleaned up by Saturday

Let’s go Huskies!

Ball (23), Karaban (20) and Reed (19) combined for 62 points or 70% of our points. It was a good sign that we had only 2 team fouls at halftime, regardless of the competition. A win by 27 but not a total blow out. We don’t want to be greedy but that’s needs to be standard in a game like this.

Karaban filled up the boxscore and played a multidimensional game. Points, rebounds, and assists.

Always a good sign when Karaban and Ball get to the line. Both are good foul shooters and were 10-13 combined on FT. Reed added 7-10.

Reed with decent minutes is a double / double guy who will shoot over 60%. Keeping healthy and fouls low is key. Again, part of the defensive improvement that Danny wants has been a de-emphasis of the aggressive high hedge for the center.

Ross fouled out but was 3-3 from the 3 point line, a good sign for someone good on defense.

Keeping a nice FG% spread is a good sign for both offense and defense. 56% to 37% is a good spread.

Reibe’s numbers are modest, but a non casual fan can see glimpses of his potential.

alot to like in the first half, 2nd half looked alot like the NH game with the missed open 3s/shots at the rim, missed FTs(including front end of 1 and 1s), offensive boards given up and Columbia making a ridiculous number of contested pull-up jumpers. AK has looked great from the MSU exhibition on with how sharp he looks doing everything offensively. Silas looks super in control of the offense without forcing his own shot and could probably a bit more selfish but he's not being greedy vs lower comp. Looking forward to Saturday so we can get a proper assessment on where they're at, I wasn't really blown away by BYU vs a mid(imo) Nova roster.

First half we played nearly perfect basketball. Second half we took foot off gas and didn't play well. I like it, Hurley is going to use that second half all week to get them ready for Saturday.

Point guard play is miles ahead of last season. Silas is ahead of where Tristen was when he got here. Malachi is also really good. They also play well together.

Ross looked great first half. He was active used his athleticism and made his threes. We still need more consistency from Ross and Stewart and we need to see it against the big boy teams but those are our 7th and 8th guys when Braylon comes back depending on if Reibe isn't showing enough (he had a rough game) and that means we're pretty damn talented.

Reed and AK you know what you're going to get. Same with Solo but his driving and finishing is much better than in the past.

The team ball movement and passing from Silas and Malachi was pretty next level in that first half.

At least we know what we’re getting with Ball/Karban/Reed. Wish I felt more confident going into BYU, but it’ll be a great game.
BYU not playing super great so far. I think we should win this one, and I'm just dying to know who/how we guard AJD.

Great first half, Ross' best half of his career. Bummer to see him disappear in the second half, as it shows the inconsistency we all come to know.

Reed/Demary/Smith/Ball/AK look like they're ready.

Reibe is concerning - he lools like a fawn out there right now. Let's just hope his backup minutes are against their backup 5. Stew was non existent.

It's like the refs at halftime suddenly remembered it was a UConn game.
I agree they were letting a lot go in the first half. Not calling all the bumps and reaches we saw in some other games.

Columbia came out in the 2nd half being very physical on the boards and on defense. The refs responded by calling fouls. They had 6 fouls in 4.5 minutes. It took UConn out of their rhythm, and Hurley teams tend to match physicality. So then UConn increased their own physicality, and then the refs had to call even more fouls. Vicious cycle of more and more fouls.

Very few ticky tack fouls were called. There were just a ton more fouls committed.
