Yes, it was. Too fast for my eyes at the time.I think your video is blocked. Is this the time when Geno mouthed "no way"? At the time, at least, I agreed with him.
Here is the GIF (from Gifs.com; this site is on the list in Learning the Boneyard, Lesson #5; not so, giphy.com, which is the site from which the failed GIF originated).
It looks like she started with her right foot as her pivot and switched to her left foot for a pivot on the spin move. She needed a dribble with the spin move for it not to be a travel.
I would file it under "technically a travel, but many refs (incl. in the pros) would not call it."
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty," – that is allThe luxury of obsessing over a travel call! Still, it passes the time between games.
Yeah, it's a travel. Once her right foot is established she then moved it before pivoting then took her step. It's a "Jordan" travel and is rarely called since Michael in either Association. Should it be called on the amateur level? Yes. I think more often. But as noted by others the athleticism of today's players puts an increasingly heavy responsibility on modern officiating.I would file it under "technically a travel, but many refs (incl. in the pros) would not call it."
"Here. I hold it towards you.""Beauty is truth, truth beauty," – that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
For your slo-mo and super slo-mo viewing pleasure. Unfortunately right now I can only produce this in standard video....sorry.
To me, as I understand the rules, it was a travel as soon as she re=planted her right foot to take the shot.
In the NBA, you can make 1 dribble from half court, and go in for a layup.I would file it under "technically a travel, but many refs (incl. in the pros) would not call it."
