Akinjo is impressive. I think we’ll be happy having the size/athleticism that Gaffney brings, but Akinjo is just mature beyond his years. Fun player.

Wish the kid the best of luck, but I don’t miss him. I knew many students managers who said he was lazy in practice, wasn’t interested in playing defense. Looked like he’d rather be anywhere else in the world than on the court. He has a similar demeanor to Carlton, just slightly more skilled. Nonetheless, no hate. I wish any former husky the best

I think the redshirt year really helped Enoch. He was one of the youngest guys in his class.

There were so many critics on his game when he left though. Hearing crickets now.

Bottom line, KO lost that team, hence the mass exodus, and, ultimately, his demise as Head coach @ UConn. Still love the guy though. It was just time for a change.

Both Enoch and Durham should have been redshirted as freshmen. Enoch due to age/maturity and Durham due to recovery from ACL injuries. Combine that with limited, if any, big man coaching and development and it was a part of the recipe for disaster. Both did what was best for them.

McClung was not good in AAU so I’m a bit surprised to see him doing this well. His jumper has improved although that bank today was pure luck.

Regardless, Cooley just put on a “what coaches shouldn’t do” clinic in that game. You have to foul there, and after not fouling in regulation, he lost the same way in OT. Pathetic coaching IMO
