2026 Recruiting: Cole Cloer visiting this weekend

Not sure I've been less interested in the HS scene than I am this year. I don't think there are many players that will make much of a mark next year and then they're fair market in the portal. In fact, given I think the HS NIL scene might be a bit depressed this year, could see a lot of these kids flashing in the portal to see how they can make up for it in Year 2.

Yeah times have changed. And missing out on HS recruits just doesn't sting like it used to. The only one of this class I really want is Mingo.

I agree. Although it does sting to me still not because of the player but rather the time invested by the staff. More of a perception thing even if the reality is he grew up an NCST fan, still doesn't read well to miss out as a Blue Blood to a program run by a glorified bag man.

Doubt they're getting a freshman for next season that could start at UConn over a potential junior portal transfer or Stewart (depending on how he progresses this season). Managing recruiting is so hard now with the portal.

This isn’t true. Mingo is in a separate bucket than Landrew/Samuels.

Haven’t seen anyone projecting Cloer as a frosh starter other than Will Wade. If we get Samuel’s or Landrew at SF then Cloer would most likely be backing stew up at the 4.

What’s the dislike here @RuffRuff ? Stewie is clearly battling Mullins for the 3 this year, and the poster I was replying to was talking about Cloer as an AK replacement (which I agree with). So how is them playing together not a realistic scenario?

Not sure what auror post you are referring to, but you’re the first person I’ve seen who thinks Landrew is a backup to Mingo. They aren’t remotely the same player and we would absolutely take both.

I agree that Cloer doesn’t need to start from day one and may not be ready to - but I don’t think Stewie at the 4 is a foregone conclusion either. Dan Hurley could easily sell at least the opportunity for CC to fill AK’s shoes.
