In his final Chief's Brief, Chief suggested that it was all but confirmed that Kevin Ollie was gone. What happens mere days later? Ollie gone. Reminiscent of just over a year ago when Chief also predicted Bob Diaco's firing. Chief a prophet? Confir_ed.

All hail the Chief!

Chief said that a donor stepped up to pay the buyout. The wording of today’s statement shows that this clearly did not happen.

As usual, Chief is off the mark and deserves none of the credit he wrongfully gets.

Since it’s obvious that the #BlazeStrategy is no longer in place at UConn, maybe Chief will migrate to the board for Chill’s new school? A brand-new audience would give him much more leeway.

Thanks UConnPhil - Doing what Chief does.

However, I was hoping KO did not overplay his hand and quickly take 20 to 40 cents on the dollar. Instead, there will be the start of a possible messy legal process.

Benedict now has an open position, which he can fill and as fans of the program that what we need.

Like many games this year for KO, you get the feeling it isn’t going to end well.

Uconn Phil. Everyone in the world who is a fan of the UCONN program new Ollie was gone. Hope you were only kidden.. Ollies kiss of death was when you hear from the A.D. or general manager "he is our coach and we will look further into it at seasons end" A.D. Dave said something along those lines 2 weeks ago..no need to make chief's head bigger then it already is for something everyone already knew was happening.

The mere mention of his name is enough to bring out the mob. And yet, he seems to forgive them. Amazing.

Like a true prophet, he is willing to walk among his doubters until they’re ready to accept what he tells them.

Has anyone ever seen Chief and Fishy in a room together? Seems odd.....

It's amazing how this fast this Fishy/Chief/jAcKsOn person shifts personalities a la Split.

I and others have been saying this since last year that Ollie will be fired if he missed the NCAA tournament again. Anybody that was awake knew this was going to happen. This was a foregone conclusion that only Ollie's apologists and sycophants were denying.

PS: AD Dave Benedict is a man with strong convictions, principles, and intelligence. If anyone can bring about a new era of athletics greatness for us it is him.

Did those convictions, principles, and intelligence lead him to agree to this egregiously high buyout?

KO still has a few more years of huge alimony - so he is in a squeeze. He also likes his version of the good life.
Sure you can go back into court and modify alimony if circumstances change materially. But, he may need to take this hard line path or else the judge may say - you just gave up a $9 million payout why should your ex suffer? Now we have proof that $9 million comes with real life play out cause strings and likely at the end of the day it will be much less for a donor to pick up.
I was hoping it wouldn’t play out so publicly but given the open position Dave needed now to get a good coach before they get scooped up - he had to move fast.

When the knew coach is struggling to get double figure wins next year
I wonder what The Lynch mob will be foing
They better have good cause weaseling out of the buyout or Ollie’s firing will kill the program

Ollie was already killing the program. We are currently in stable condition and hopefully a new hire will get us out of the coma.

So, if it ends up being improper workouts, level 1 or 2 violation where the head coach is deemed responsible, they seemingly have their just cause.
Seems like they were offering a reduced buyout, where he could save face, keep some cash, and just move on????
He's gonna lose it all
