Check in

My wife and I are still OK but we have never known so many people who are getting COVID at one time as in the past week or so. Probably about 8-10 people we are related to or work with have tested positive.

I have a colleague who is fully vaccinated with booster. He played in the orchestra for a Choral concert and five days later he tested positive. He is sick but slowly getting better. Dangerous times for everyone.

Monday was not a good day. Took our COVID tests for our cruise thru the Panama Canal on New Year's Eve. Needless to say, we are at home. Wife was positive & I was negative. We had a feeling this was going ot happen as we went to neighbors for a evening get-to-gether the day before Christmas Eve. One tested positive the next day. Friday we will be clear. Its the Omicron variant according to her doctor. Such is life. And yup, its like a bad cold.

Outside of that we are good. Enjoying the Florida sun with temps in the low 80's. So a quiet week. New Year's Eve celebration will be quiet too. She has her wine & vodka and I've got plenty of bourbon. Just have to figure what to cook.

I'm good, but getting tired of writing up the Prognosticators Prediction game threads, just to have the game POSTPONED. I hope and pray that they can get the Georgetown game in for all of us BY'ers so we can get back to ALMOST normal. Happy New Year everyone!

life is always full of problems, but u can't deal with them iffn ur not here, so, one day at at a time. this guys been singing this beat for over half a century. smart dude. here, he sings it again, just a few short weeks ago.

check out the lady with a mohawk at 2:54. she gets it.

Any guy satisfied with being the eighth Henry must be into something really good.

For 79, I am good enough. I divide my time between San Antonio and my ranch. It is going to get real cold up in Northern NM pretty soon but a fire in the fireplace feels really good. Nice to look at the mountains and the animals.

We're good.
The missus and I just came back from the park where we shot a half hour of hoops.

Not bad for 82/69

My two kids and their gf's both (Independently) came down with mild cases, last week...one set completely recovered/negative, my eldest, just about over it.
Talk about robbing the cradle.

First..Very much appreciate the check-in very neighbourly of you. Yes doing well thanks. Hope all is well with your family and close friends. Cheers!

Hiding with the rest of my family while my daughter finishes up with COVID.......going on seven days and so far nobody else has tested positive........poor kid is feeling perfectly fine other than a loss of taste and missing all her friends who are also home from college.......

When I read Excelsior my mind goes to an old movie, The Bad Seed, in which an 11 year old girl murders a man by setting fire to the excelsior he was sleeping on. Not her worst crime either.

I am fine physically. Just back from a Christmas visit to my son and family who live on Mercer Island, Washington. Mentally and psychologically I am still working on living without Karen, my wonderful wife of 53 years. She was my friend, my lover, my confidant and my muse. I miss her completely. Fortunately I have two wonderful sons with great families, and many other relatives, friends and neighbors who are very supportive. And yes, the Boneyard(all of you) are part of that support. I check in every day, post some “likes” add an occasional comment and enjoy all the interaction.

Loss of taste is no small thing, CharlieBall. Good luck to you and your daughter.,

Thanks so much for checking in, Shorty Dee. I'm doing well, relatively speaking, although sad stories abound with family and friends. Tough times.

I'm just so appreciative of the support from fellow BYers and thankful for the Huskies, whenever they're back at it and healthy!

When you’ve had 2 cancer surgeries and you’re still here, you learn to appreciate that every day is a good day!
My very, very wise Irish maternal Grandma had a stock reply when asked whether things were going well, I heard it a zillion times; “Every day I am using the Lord’s oxygen is a good day, some are just better than others.”
Here’s praying you see a “zillion“ more of those good days!!
