Larrier

What's the deal with Carrington? Feel like we haven't heard his name in a while.

Thanks, knew I missed someone, def agree on Larrier. Carrington may have moved down as a priority once Purvis signed. I still feel he would e an excellent get.

Why is the list of "who is recruiting them" the hardest suddenly a "list"? It used to be who is the leader. East Paduka University could be all over a kid and camped outside his home, but be nowhere on the list of leaders for a kids' recruitment.

I suppose there is something to be said for how much a university "wants" a kid and that is related to how hard they recruit him, but i find lists like that misleading...

I agree....I've hardly seen that until this year, and now it seems like that's all we ever hear on these kids. The list isn't who their top 5 schools are anymore, which seems to be much more relevant. Seems like sort of a cop out answer to me actually, but I guess these kids don't owe it to anyone to show their hand, we just need to be patient!

The reason it gets asked all the time is because the later you get in the recruiting season, the more those 2 lists start to mirror each other. Each school has a finite amount of recruiting resources, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to "go hard" after a player that you don't have much of a chance of getting.

I've always followed recruiting but probably moreso this year due to the stakes and this being KO's first real year as the head man and I've never seen the "recruiting me the hardest" angle used in recruiting articles the way it has been this year. I don't know, maybe it was being done and I never paid any attention it it but it seems like that's always the first thing that gets brought up, I guess that is a way to get around the "who are your leaders" question that recruits usually dodge but it doesn't mean the same.

I, too, have been confused by the "who's recruiting me the hardest" and how that translates to leaders for each player. As fans, many try to read the tea leaves and read into whatever comments kids make to determine who is rising or falling on their lists. Usually it seems like those comments come from AAU sources, or bloggers, or others who had a quick interview or something with the kid.

I agree that the schools only have limited resources so it's possible that schools can't "recruit every kid they like the hardest"...

He has set up one official visit. It's to Michigan. The first weekend of September.
