Nice little ballpark.Nothing's worse than Bridgeport's brand new music venue named the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater.
Way to market your city.

Don’t. Either your word means something or it doesn’t. The University of Connecticut gave its word that gambles name would be on the arena forever. Only a sleazy organization would try to walk that back.Sort of. He donated $1M, which was needed to help make sure it even happened. So yeah, critical at the time. But you could sell the naming rights for a lot more than that and UConn AD could sure use the money.
Naming Rights Deals

And they have an unbelievable lineup of shows this summer.Nice little ballpark.
They are waiting for me to hit powerball or mega millions. At which point every facility will be named after me and the Whalers will be back in Hartford. Why hasn't UConn sold the naming rights to Gampel?
I’m not advocating that at all. But they should have named the court for him instead. It was a mistake. If Nebraska can score $27m in naming rights for their arena, UConn, which gets more TV time, could pull in even more.Don’t. Either your word means something or it doesn’t. Probably, but Gampel is the building has a name and it shouldn’t be changed. You can’t change the terms of an agreement just because you don’t like some of the benefit of hindsight.I’m not advocating that at all. But they should have named the court for him instead. I disagree, I think the program could benefit from naming rights revenue, epecially now.Gampel should never be changed
The Bone Dome?We should have passed the hat. Missed opportunity.
Blaze? JK.The Gampel name has that national significance. Huh? At least get naming rights from some pizza joint; Pepe's or Sally's

Apropos, iirc Harry loved the horses. The University of Connecticut gave its word that gambles name would be on the arena forever.
Back in the day, before it had a name, we used to call it The Conn Dome. The Bone Dome?

I believe Carrier is no longer in Syracuse after the spinoff from UTC. Didn't they move the plants to Mexico? It was an outdated naming contract and they were loosing out on money for years. Carrier knew they were making out like bandits and it caused a rift between Syracuse and carrier. I think Syracuse even removed them from their media guide as a sponsor
I drove by that venue howerever and it looks terrific. Hartford Healthcare is huge. Probably got a good price for it.Nothing's worse than Bridgeport's brand new music venue named the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater.

I remember the T-shirtsBack in the day, before it had a name, we used to call it The Conn Dome.![]()
Not positive I think they still have a presence in Syracuse. Kinda funny how they never put air conditioning in the carrier dome for 40 years and Syracuse had to do it themselves 2 years ago. I hope they used their biggest competitor hvac system to do thatI believe Carrier is no longer in Syracuse after the spinoff from UTC. Didn't they move the plants to Mexico?
It can't be as bad as here in Omaha. We have the CHI Health Center. Still can't figure out who the head nitwit was that pushed that one through. Yep, you can watch a basketball game or maybe get a colonoscopy, or both.
"Rentschler Field" came with the land deal, naming rights to the stadium weren't allowed for a period of time. After that time was up is when the PAWS came, at a price I'm almost 100% sure.Anyhow, we can't throw stones after Gampel's name and Pratt and Whitney Stadium, which I am not sure if Pratt paid any money for it at all or it is just negotiated for the land deal.
