My biggest question at the end is after struggling 5 times to get the ball in why was Karaban the inbounder on every one other than the one he leaked out on? Not that there were many openings to get it in, but he seemed frozen each time.
You mean away. Problem is none of those teams are that great either. We've beaten Gonzaga, and Marquette/Creighton at home. IMO, we're not that bad.
What has Reed showed that makes you think he will be a difference maker? It surely isn't his defense. Problem is both of our centers have big warts. They need to start Reed, with him down low, they’re a much better team, and at the opening tip it would sort of set the tone for the game.
Nailed it. You see so much more of all the laziness and brain farts when you’re up close. This team runs it's inbounds like it runs its offense, a half step too slow. We went from having a team of ultra fast processors, to a team that just does't click at the speed of a Cam, Castle, TNew and AJax. Watch Solo cut through the paint with a casual hand up getting zero separation everytime. Now put TNew and Cam fricken Spencer in there and our offense would look dynamic.
Diarra, McNeeley and Karaban make net positive winning plays mostly every game and their desire is evident. Last year we were seven deep in that department. The aggregate of that (-4) loss in high IQ players results in not only losses like this, but all the losses of 4 or less we've accumulated this year. High IQ players make EVERYONE better.
Every poor performance it's a new thing lol. 25 turnovers, can't inbound, missed FT, etc.
Now we are truly on the bubble because this team can't count on any of the easy Ws left on the schedule.
Yeah I thought he would be at least a shooter. I know playing out of position has impacted his ability to create too,The Mahaney experiment can be officially called a complete disaster. He was supposed to be a key add and he brings zero to team.
He’s our Timberlake. When you can’t find value in a guy in mid Feb against a really bad team (4 minutes), it’s a clear admission he’s a bust.Yeah I thought he would be at least a shooter. I know playing out of position has impacted his ability to create too,
This is a good point. I can’t point to any player that seems significantly better over the course of the season. Fresh blood is needed and hard conversations for some need to be had at years endTeam has low Basketball IQ.
Players continue to make the same mistakes they were making in November.
Players have yet to figure out how to do the simple things.
At their home, my bad. And those aren't bad teams. You mean away. Problem is none of those teams are that great either.
I agree. I was really excited w the Maheney add over the summer. But this miss is the biggest reason we haven’t come close to our expectations. It happens. It’s easy to see what the coaches thought. It didn’t work out. Doubt they make the same mistake twice.Yeah I thought he would be at least a shooter. I know playing out of position has impacted his ability to create too,
I don’t know if anyone noticed but some of the top ranked teams have lost to cellar dwellers in their conference this year. It’s just not us though we have
Reed is more of a traditional center than Samson. When Samson got hurt in the Gonzaga game, Reed came in and solidified the middle and neutralized Ike. Reed can be an intimidating force in the middle who can change shots and grab tough boards. It’s a shame he isn’t given the starting nod over Samson who frankly stinks in the role. What has Reed showed that makes you think he will be a difference maker? It surely isn't his defense. Problem is both of our centers have big warts.
Absolutely. I am eternally grateful for the last two seasons, but this game is on the coaches. When you have a 7 point lead with 36 seconds to go, and the game goes to OT, and then regain a decent lead in OT with seconds remaining and then lose the game…….That’s on the coaching staff.
SJ has not improved at all. Can't shoot or rebound. No idea what Dan Hurley is doing with him up high. Need to get a get new blood from the portal at that position. TR seems disengaged at times. Maybe some dissent?Reed is more of a traditional center than Samson. When Samson got hurt in the Gonzaga game, Reed came in and solidified the middle and neutralized Ike. I think we were all expecting Mahaney to be a lesser version of Cam, but Mahaney (on the court) is the polar opposite. The Mahaney experiment can be officially called a complete disaster. He was supposed to be a key add and he brings zero to team.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that is what Reibe is known for. You may be disappointed. It'll be nice once we get Reibe in the building. He should provide much of what Clingan did and hold down the paint defensively.
How about 7 rpg per game and 9.3 ppg in limited minutes on the season so far. What has Reed showed that makes you think he will be a difference maker? It surely isn't his defense. Problem is both of our centers have big warts.
How about Creighton, Oregon, Indiana, and Kansas being disappointed when they didn’t get the kid? He’s not Donavan Clingan but he’ll be a clear improvement over what Hurley has now. Not to mention Adams and Mullins, and McNeeley possibly hanging around.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that is what Reibe is known for. You may be disappointed.
