We’re a better team than we were last year and a WAY better team than we were in 17-18. You don’t even need metrics to show you that your own eyes should also tell you.

We’ve had 6 wins, 2 against P5 teams and 2 against strong mid majors who had made the tourney last year. To end December we have a strong chance of finishing 9-3.

On the losing end there’s been 3 of them. The forbidden one... the heartbreaker... the sloppy one. As for the heartbreaker, we did not play the greatest basketball, yet we take a ranked team in Xavier to 2 OT, and then lose by 1. We had 2 opportunities to win the game! Then with Indiana, the sloppiest offensive game this season and we end up losing by 1 possession. Rough. But all in all, 2 Q1 losses, by 1 possession on neutral court.... we’re so close to where we wanna be. How about we relax and let the coach handle everything since we all have trust in him. It just so happens, that last game each and every domino fell the wrong way and its tough but if we win the AAC we’re in! Very good shot at an auto bid with how we’ve competed 10 deep against quality opponents. The win would’ve been a great one but you have these types of games that hurt. All that matters is that this season is not over and there’s still a great shot at a 20+ win season... something we haven’t been able to enjoy in a WHILE! So can we calm down, let the staff do they thing and enjoy winning?
I have no problem with being a program learning to win again. I have no expectations this season and im just enjoying being into Uconn basketball again. My problem is in those 3 loses our guards combined to go 12 for 82 from the field with 22 turnovers! 2 of the 3 loses are squarely on CV and AG.

2018-2019: 7-2 after 9 games with a win over #15 Syracuse and losses to Iowa and Arizona.
2017-2018: 6-3 after 9 games with a win over Oregon and losses to Michigan State, Arkansas and Syracuse (and none of these losses were very close).

I don't have to tell anyone how those 2 seasons went.

So while I'm calm and not panicking I don't understand how your post is supposed to make anyone feel better about being 6-3. We'll see what happens the rest of the season.

What I’ve said about this team from day 1,still applies I think. Not that talented. Some potential for the future but as of right now we have a shooting guard who should be a sixth man, a point guard who would be a backup at a top program a raw freshman with lots of potential but who isn’t anywhere near ready for prime time. It will require everything to go right to be a bubble team...probably a good deep run in the aac tourney. Could be an NIT team if everything goes well.
Reads like the product of AI that continues to learn from itself, but still has grammar, syntax, and logic in formation. Getting there.

UConn has to rip the AAC a bunch of new scaleetoholes when the Huskies get into league play. If they can't tune up the mediocre AAC schedule, UConn doesn't deserve to go to the Dance.

Better find a way in the next 3 games to find out if Bouk is the real deal or not.

Can't believe our schedule allows 3 different full weeks between games before January? Sorry changed the topic but I was looking up something and saw that.

It's all a matter of sitting down with AG and getting him back to the way he played when we should've beaten X but lost in OT (because he went off the beaten path again for some reason) and then the next 3 where he was really good. He's the key I have no doubt. It would also help if CV reattached his head which seems to have fallen off. I mean besides the TOs he can't shoot. AG has to shoot better but he can impact without taking a shot it's not the same for Vital he needs to make some shots. This year so far is his worst, need him back to the impact guy he can be.

I'm not calming down until I see some effective corrective action.

Aren't they the same?

Look, I'm not saying the team will stink because they're 6-3 and haven't played well in 2 of the losses. I'm also saying you can't put a happy face on 6-3 and say they're going to be fine and will make the NCAA Tournament because they look better than the last 2 seasons. But I understand people have opinions and this forum is made to share them.

Me? I'm just watching the games and cheering on the Huskies. But at this point I have no expectations because it seems every time I've gotten excited the last 3 years I then get hammered over the head when the team doesn't live up to the expectations. Call me shell shocked but it's just the truth.

First, without criticism of you, I see meaningful differences between the two.

Second, and so in the realm of my seeing distinctions and regarding them as meaningful, I'm not reading a whole lot of happy face+everything fine = NCAAs, let alone "because they look better." But I do believe that they look better and are better.

Third, "PTSD, " "shell-shocked," and other terms have been bandied about. The most neutral version is "rebuild."

Except for those old enough to remember when we'd never been relevantly good, we've been through a period of unprecedented collective horror. Yeah, it's hard to trust after something like that. Is it really over? Here's where it depends on your version of "over. '"

Your recitation of the W-L records after 9 games during the two prior years is factual, but I think that your eyes have seen 17 of 18 'competitive' halves, results that have been more favorable than the spread to a greater extent than we've been seeing, a rising KenPom that still draws from last year, no crippling in-season injuries (though Tuesday's first half 2-foul sit downs could be labeled traumatic in their affect), no beat downs or total surrenders.

That which stunk has stunk. Nobody is denying that. Really.

You're watching. You're cheering. That says something.

To me, that adds up to calming down. But that's me, and the guy who posted it, and others who agree. It could include feeling less more so than feeling better. Your choice, and no great harm if you don't agree. I just want as many people (players, coaches, and fans) as possible to access their best toward having as good a season as possible.

I will take 6-3 vs this schedule this year over 7-2 last year with those results. Records say a lot, but don't always tell the full story, like how Uconn got creamed and absolutely demolished twice in the first 9 games vs MSU and Arkansas two years ago. This years 6-3 is far superior than 6-3 two years ago where they also went to OT against two middling low major teams Columbia and Monmouth and struggled a great deal to put away 0-10 Coppin State. 3 very poor showings against dregs and getting smoked twice in meaningful games, that 6-3 is not the same as this 6-3 IMO.

I was talking about the OP (not any of yours) which said:

Very good shot at an auto bid with how we’ve competed 10 deep against quality opponents. The win would’ve been a great one but you have these types of games that hurt. All that matters is that this season is not over and there’s still a great shot at a 20+ win season.

We could go back and forth forever so this is my last post in the thread.

If the "Very good shot at an auto bid..." excerpt had been highlighted, I have better understood where you were coming from, because that stands out as the OP's weakest link. No personal criticism intended. I find that phrasing an overreach as well, but I'm still, in rereading, OK with my having Liked the OP.

You care. I get it.
